I have no problem with a group of tops waiting for quilting. It's those other projects that are started but get pushed aside so I can start something new. This year I'm focusing on finishing UFO's and I have really limited the number of new projects I allow myself to start. Before I got my longarm 4 years ago I always made one quilt from start to finish. Now I'm always working on multiple projects.Mary Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07801947879882584734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29563767.post-1158072243507400632006-09-12T07:44:00.000-07:002006-09-12T07:44:00.000-07:00your blocks are super!! just started reading your ...your blocks are super!! just started reading your blog and your retired life sounds like something I am aiming for... simple and happy!!

on the subject of UFOs, this for me is a project started and then bagged or boxed up as i move on to the next new idea... In my case, I live alone, pets aren't generally allowed in our small complex. My kids are all married and gone, and most live a good distance from here in terms of hours of driving.
I have friends in the area, but one one is single, like me. And she still works. I found this through Bonnie's site last summer, and it has become a very important part of my day and my life. Someone is expecting to see me, and see what I am working on. To listen to my chatter and thoughts. If I bore them, they can click onward to other blogs and don't hurt my feeling because I don't even know if they've been here or not, unless they leave a comment..*S*

In my opinion it works well for everyone who needs or wants it to be part of their life. I love seeing what you are doing..*VBS* Have a great day, and don't think too much. When I first began quilting I would not start a new project until the last was complete. Then I realized the merit of having something to work on at the maching and something available for hand stitching. It was a slippery slope for me. I do have some UFO's that have languished far to long. In the last week, I have come to realize they are probably never going to be completed by me and it's time for them to go live with someone who has the gumption to finish them and love them the way they should be. It was a very freeing revelation for me.
I do have some tops waiting to be quilted, but they are not among the UFO's. I know they will get done.Libbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17872055894285312153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29563767.post-1157931722086801712006-09-10T16:42:00.000-07:002006-09-10T16:42:00.000-07:00Hey all those tops are yours--you may call them wh...Hey all those tops are yours--you may call them whatever you want, Tops is fine with me, LOL.

Now think of all the new friends that you have made being online and blogging---how can that be bad?? This still isn't totally working.

I love the squares! Especially the little centers! It's going to be a great quilt!

Let me answer the UFO question here. I would agree with you on the NO UFO's in my closets. Well wait I do have one. I don't count finished tops as UFO's. I think of UFO's as something I am not going back to finish. I onyl have one fo those, but I have lots of tops waiting to be quilted. They have to wait in their pile because I simply can't do as much quilting as I can straight sewing. I have to rest my shoulders and I wouldn't call something a UFO just because it's waiting for me to quilt it.

Nope the only thing I abandoned was my first applique project. I learned on that one and I got stuck on the border. I may still go back and finish it yet.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14059454522337423829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29563767.post-1157925221630575822006-09-10T14:53:00.000-07:002006-09-10T14:53:00.000-07:00Those blocks are great!
