Like some have said, the solution I've heard is to wear gloves. Try it and see what you think. I also like to use wool with cotton and will often sew the wool by machine onto a cotton background--I would think that method would limit your contact with the wool, so maybe it would work. You also might consider combining fleece with wool--fleece for a background with wool on top; again, it would limit the amount of wool you're handling, perhaps. Don't give up!Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05365964667029948020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29563767.post-77931945102070524282009-11-20T05:17:56.228-08:002009-11-20T05:17:56.228-08:00Cathi wrote to me to say you had an allergy proble...Cathi wrote to me to say you had an allergy problem with wool...me, too! I refuse to give it up so I've worked out some of the problems....my problem involves my throat closing up and my eyes running like waterfalls. The fibers from the wool get up my nose and cause my throat to close. I can remember leaving Good Home Quilt Company many times with wool in hand and not being able to talk.....so I'd wave to Carol and off I'd go. My fingers will break out too if I'm not careful.....wearing gloves is like taking a shower with your raincoat on so it's not fun....so, I put allergy cream (mine is prescription, but you can buy some over the counter) on, let it soak in and so far it's helping. I also put a small fan on low so that the fibers will blow away as they come off the wool. The situation will never be perfect, but giving up isn't an option I like either. lol I hope you can work it out so you can enjoy what you love. Should I put my order in for a penny rug? Good luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12960224047161468481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29563767.post-1282776777303453532009-11-19T17:48:07.949-08:002009-11-19T17:48:07.949-08:00I think Wednesday whining is a great idea.
