We all have a passion for sewing and quilting, but it is a very expensive hobby, so I guess it's all about priorities, at least at the moment. You were a very courageous and strong woman to leave the store unkitted! "It is what it is"...as my daughter is always saying. My finances don't stop me from looking and drooling and dreaming though, LOL. So like you, I would have gone home without the kit too. In all honesty, I have (still do) own 2 Fabric bundles, one is fat quarters of Me and My sister collection that I won in giveaway 3 years ago, the other is a half yard bundle of Carrie Nelsons so cheerful and gorgeous collection 'Nine Dots'...it was a gift from Carrie. I just don't see a day coming when I can purchase a beautiful FQB and a little yardage to match, not with my medical bills. But here's the thing...I thank the good Lord everyday for blessing me with the means to have good medical care and to keep my bills paid. All the rest is icing on the cake. I have to admit that I've always been a "glass half empty" kind of girl, but when I look at my empty fabric shelves in my sewing room, I truly do see them as "shelves half full", because I can always pull together enough to make something, usually scrappy, but then, I love scrappy projects.
