More 9 Patches

I was playing the other night and came up with an idea for another "fly by the seat of my pants" 9 patch quilt. I've only done these two blocks so bear with me and I'll share more soon!

The sweet 30's 9 patch quilt is done to the flimsy stage. WooHoo! I ran by a nearby quilt store yesterday afternoon and found some adorable backing fabric. Soon it'll be quilted and, hopefully, enjoyed by my friend. I'm especially hoping that my friend will be surprised. Bear in mind that she's admired my quilts but never asked me for a quilt. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. LOL

The quilting slump is not completely gone but I'm trying really hard to push through it. Obviously I'm not spending much time at my sewing machine but a little is better than none. :-) Thank you all for your wonderful comments and encouragement.

Ooh, these are adorable too, such nice fabrics ! Perfect for Christmas ...
I'm glad your sweet 30's nine patch is almost done (and quilted!) and I'm so happy we'll luckily see it before your friend does (or, at least, at the same time, if she reads your blog).
It's such a good thing that you're sewing again - even not much, it's better than nothing. Imagine : if you make 2 nine patches a day.... you would have 730 ones in one year !!!! That males 10 nice quilts in a year, which is VERY productive ! (LOL)

Biiig hug and smiles,
NADINE.

Is the stripe fabric the two nine patches are on for the alternate blocks?

Oh, by the way, thanks for the idea. I have some Christmas fabric use up and you have given me a great idea.

OHHHH - I love those fabrics!!!! Just sew away and send them to me! I can't wait to see! I LOVE that holly fabric!

I"m in a bit of a quilting slump myself. And so is Jeanne - hmmm must be in the air!

9 patches are just the best -- so many things you can do with them. The holly fabric is just as cute as can be. You'll be back in the swing of it before we can blink an eye.

Okay, now I've run across 2 different posts today about 9-patches. I've got to make some when I get home. I like the sweet 9patch flimsy and these little cuties will look good too.

I am glad to read you are starting to get out of your quilting slump. I think the 30's nine patch is such a pretty quilt. I'm sure the receiver of that quilt will just love it.
