Sluggish Days

I'm finally starting to feel a bit human - this nasty cold has just hung on a bit too long. Haven't felt like doing much - sleeping, watching TV and a bit of handapplique. I've been visiting blogs but sadly have not left many comments. I have a long list of e-mails to respond to and will get to those today. If I owe you a response please bear with me :-) I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that your days have been full of comfort and joy. We had a very nice Christmas Eve with my daughter and her family - it's so much fun to watch the faces of my grandsons, Seth and Eli, as they tear into their packages. Of course, I had fun tearing into mine, too. My wonderful daughter gave us a four Fiestaware placesettings, and a set of adorable salt and pepper shakers to match; my SIL gave me a "touch can-opener" (he and I have a thing about can openers LOL) and my wonderful DH gave me a Tutto bag to use to take my sewing machine when I go sewing with my friends. We had a wonderful prime rib dinner with friends on Christmas Day. All in all great days! And, since then I've truly been a SLUG! I had prepped quite a bit of "Celebrate January" by Lori Smith and you see the results of my hand applique in the picture! And, I've been contemplating my quilty plans for 2007 - trying to settle on realistic goals and projects.

Sounds like a wonderful holiday -- having the grandkids with you makes it even more fun.
I hope that you are back on your feet again soon. Lingering colds are just trying. In the new year, you'll be feeling better and getting on with your list of projects. I can't wait to see what you work on.
A safe, healthy, prosperous and Happy New Year to you *s*

I am glad you are feeling better now. Ready for our applique challenge 2007 ??? I think Nadine is ready too. Your Lori Smith quilt is beautiful. I have two pattern from her: country stars and quilt block sampler.

I wish you a happy new quilting year with a lot of inspiration and creativity.

Oh, Darlene, you will love your Tutto bag. Some friends in my sewing group have one and it's a real Mercedes of totes. I have a very nice canvas one that serves me well, but it doesn't swivel and I have wiped out with it. (Women drivers!)

Sounds like you had a good Christmas in spite of your yukky cold. I do hope you're on the road to recovery, girl! I LOVE those blocks you've appliqued. More and more I find myself drawn to the folk art applique. Those are just too cute! *G*

That hanging is looking very good! Makes me want to take mine out, but first I have to finish baby quilts and a bunch more UFO's. Looks like you have a good start on your 2007 hand stitching goals. I'm glad you are finally feeling better. Our SIL is too, finally, after being sick with the very nasty cold for over a week.

Oh I'm glad your starting to feel better. I soooo know how yucky and down you can feel! And how lucky were you to get a Tutto bag! I've been wanting a lime green one now for a couple years!
