The Need to Piece!

I was reading blogs and e-mail very early this morning (4:30am). I love the quiet of the early morning hours. So peaceful; very little noise and then POOF the day begins and the quiet is gone! (and my solitude is gone, too)

Patti posted a picture of Hot Apple Pie by Kim of Water Pail Designs and I thought “HMMMMM”. I had one charm pack of Four Seasons by Moda – made quick four patches (you know, sew the sides, etc, etc). Sewed 8 blocks by 8 rows, an inner border and outer border. I might have to quilt this one soon as I think it would be a darling table cover in my kitchen. I got caught up in the Charm Pack frenzy so I have a drawer full – this project was quick and easy so I might have to make something much larger with other charm packs.

Now, I’m going to get back to my pink and brown project that sits waiting for me!

That is lovely Darlene. How big is the finished top? Your pink and brown project sounds yummy, those 2 colours go so well together don't they?

Hugs, Gail

Well, how cute is that!! :P Girl, you are on a roll! I bought a charm pack of Eleanor Burns' fabrics to make a raggy purse with...no, I still haven't made it. LOL Maybe I'll copy you with them. :)

That's a great table topper. I have a couple of charm packs. Perhaps I should make one of those for me.

Cute, cute, Darlene! Question: Did you cut the charms?

Now, why did you go and post that quilt shop link? Bad, bad girl!! :)

(Hugs)

I only got bitten by the charm pack bug on ONE quilt. It was a Christmas snowball and the charms were from Moda's Christmas Presence. If I can find a picture of it I will let you know. I didn't buy enought packs and had to rumble around online a bit to find more!

Wonderful! I can just see that as a focal point in a kitchen. Don't you just love those charm packs? I to got into a charm pack frenzy early last year, but have no idea what to do with all of them yet. Keep stitching and posting pictures, so that great ideas can cross oceans:-)

Very nice! My birth mother wants a thimbleberries quilt and I think FQ pack might be the way to go since I don't have any in my stash.

Lovely, lovely, dear ! You are soooo quick ! These fabrics are beautiful. By the way, did I ever tell I never saw any "charm pack" in real ? True ! Our local quilt shop only proposes fat quarters (not regularly). Otherwise, we have to buy a minimum of 6 inches, through the whole width. I think I'm going to start a collection through the net....

Biiig hugs !
NADINE.

That is such a cute little quilt. Charm packs are nice because the fabric always looks so good together without a lot of effort of digging through the stash. Did you cut each square into four? I was going to use mine as half square triangles.

Oh it is soooo cute! And I love the border! Isn't it fun sometimes to just sew easy things like this!

Beautiful Darlene. I love the idea of charm packs too - precut pieces of a large variety of fabric. So far I have been too stingy to buy any - although I do have one set that I got for free. I am making a charm pack myself from scrap fabric to make a similar quilt - It's called Forest Floor - the center is all just charms, and then the border is applique.
