DREAMIN'

I've been dreamin' about being in Norway with Hanne and May Britt taking classes from and listening to Leanne Beasley of Leanne's House. Can you imagine how much fun they are having? Sigh! :-)

I had BIG plans to do a ton of handwork prepping this week end and all I managed to prep was block #8 of my Journey of a Quilter project (this way I could pretend I was in Norway - LOL)

I think it would be so much fun to take a trip to Australia to spend time in a workshop or two with some of the incredibly talented stitchery designers. Yes, more dreaming! :-)

Wait, I did manage to get 20 3" 9 patches completed for my exchange with a fellow blogger. I was sewing away and kept thinking that something was wrong with my blocks but couldn't put my finger on it. Well, duh - they were suppose to be 3" finished and I was making them 4" finished. So, I had to put my trusty friend, Sir Seamripper to work. All is well - 20 blocks are done and will be in the mail TODAY.

Today I was suppose to be on the road heading to Fall Market in Houston but unfortunately life forced me to cancel at the last minute. Big Sigh!

Enjoy your Monday and thanks for stopping by to visit!

In Friendship!

Love your block Darlene. I've had the same dream, being in Norway, or better yet back in Oz spending time with my kids and mum and taking classes. Enjoy your day.

Darlene, my friend, your block is adorable... I bet there many of us whishing to be in Norway these days ! However, I was thinking that your idea about Australia really a good one ! That wouldn't be so far, right ? Let me tell you something : my grandmother used to say that your dreams come true if you consider them achievable, and repeat them aloud VERY often. So, from today on, say (or sing) : "I will soon go to Australia", "I will visit Leanne Beasley" "I'm gonna have such a good time, and will bring back tons of stitcheries", etc.....
Now, if you want, you can also add "I will take Nadine with me!" LOL LOL

Biiig ((HUGS)) to you !
NADINE

Your block is beautiful! I'm teetering on the fence about starting my stitchery. Maybe after the first of the year.

Same dream is going around here in Southern Indiana. :-D
I'm way behind you on Journey of a Quilter, finished Block 1 last week, ready to begin piecing Block 2 (although one of the fabric pieces is absent from my kit). And I'm not going to Houston this year either although we seriously considered it. Plans didn't gel with the family members we were possibly visit so will go another time. The alternative isn't so bad though, will have lots of time here at home to sew & stitch & quilt. Could be worse. :-D

From reading Leanne's blog it looks like they will have the time of their lives!! She seems like such a great person - and she makes such pretty quilts.

Your block looks wonderful! I love the new look on your blog as well, great banner with all of your quilts. I'll be in Leanne's Waverley bag class this Thursday, can't wait... I wanted to do the butterfly garden, but it was full before I even heard she was coming to Norway LOL. I will think of you!

I would also like to be with May Brit and Hanne - what a fun thing! When Leanne finally comes to the states, we will all need to make a plan to meet up and take a class together. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Being anywhere with a talented stitcher like Leanne would be a wonderful place. How disappointing you can't make it to Houston Market, that is a really big dream for me to go. Your block is lovely, the seaside rose fabrics look prefect for that block. I've been itching to start the Polka Dot Girls.
Take care.

Your block is lovely! I agree with the dreaming - it's such a lovely dream! I have always wanted to go to Australia, and someday I will, by golly!
I'm glad your 9 patches turned out, too - how frustrating that must have been!
As for Houston, I'm sorry you didn't get to go - I want to so very much! Maybe next year we all can go!!!

Maybe we should arrange a trip to Australia for a meeting and classes with many of the talented ladies down there? I am dreaming that I am sitting right beside you in Norway. I love her work also. I have two of her blocks of the month put away to start in the new year and I can't wait for her butteryfly garden pattern to come out. I believe that this is a "sickness" and I hope that no one finds a cure! You do beautiful work also.
