May I Share?

I can show this little quilt to you now since it has a new home. Su Bee at Pieces of Time was my Winter Swap partner and she received this little tidbit from me today.

This is a Convergence quilt by Ricky Timms. A few weeks ago we had a guest here in our community who spoke about quilting and showed us 50 of the 75 convergence quilts she's made over the last two years. We talked her into having a mini class one evening and this is the result. :-) Perfect timing!

Thank you for letting me share.

In Friendship!

I've always wanted to do a convergence quilt but I thought that you had to have special fabric like in his (Ricky Tims) book. Do you follow any special rules tttwhen you chose the fabrics? Like only small prints or must be highly contrasting colors? Very cute and nice that you gave a little mini class.

Whoo-hoo -- this is my baby now, and I just LOVE it! "convergence" is the name I can never remember, and you're right, it's the perfect description for the network of bloggers. THANK YOU, it's so cool!!!

What a cute quilt. Your partner in the swap was one lucky gal. Didn't know that's what you call those kind of quilts. I learned something new today, YAHOO.

Enjoy your day - Karen

That's so clever the way it's done, like a piece of graphic art. Great job.

Cute quilt! Hum... quilting in your community!?!?! I wonder who started that! lol I'll be seeing Ricky in May. He's having one of those mega seminars with Libby, Alex and Bob the thread guy in Glenn Falls (about 3 hours from my home). Oh, Did I ever tell you that my Bernina shop has asked me to monitor Libby's class at VQF this summer? I've always wanted to take a class with Libby Lehman and now I get to help her out in a class! Wooo hooo! Love the perks of owning a Bernina! Keep well!
