(I need a little help, please)
Wendy and I have finished our 9 patch swap we started several months ago. These cuties are 3" finished and I'm ready to make a quilt. :-)
I want to set them on point but can't decide which color/fabric to use for the alternate block(s) - will you please help me?
This is a watermelon red.
This is beige/tan.
This is a dark pink.
Wendy's final package was not 9 patches but this adorable mini quilt and the cute pin cushion with the teeny, tiny 9 patch in the center. :-)

This swap was so much fun and would love to do something like it again in the near future. I've got my thinking cap on and thinking about doing something with 30's and white. HMMMM
I hope you can help me decide what to do because I want to do this quilt now! LOL
I'll be waiting to hear from you so please leave me a comment with a suggestion.
In Friendship!

I vote for the beige/tan. I think it makes the 9 patches stand out.
I do so enjoy your blog, I stop by every day or so, come visit me sometime! J
Dark Pink!!!! It's perfect and not as boring as the beige and the red one fights with the red 9-patch. JMHO
Oh my dear it's so hard to choose. Since I've done the red already and love it, I'm really loving how the tan/beige is looking with the nine patches. They do stand out more. Is it too late to change mine...lol
I vote for red watermelon but it was not easy to choose.
I vote for the beige/tan, I think it makes your patches pop, whereas with the other coloured backgrounds the patches tend to get a little lost. Love the quilt from Wendy...
I would rule out the dark red as it blends with the nines too much. Lately, I'm on a double pink kick, so I would probably chose that one. The tan is nice, too.
I love the dark pink!! Beautiful!
I also vote for the dark pink.
My vote is first for beige/tan because the patches do pop with that background. Second choice is the dark pink. Forget the watermelon...patches get lost.
I like the dark pink and the cream.. but if you are really stuck, just send them to me! LOL

I like the tan/beige. I think that it makes your blocks pop.
I like the dark pink...and the tan in the quilt picture (yours is too close to the cream in the blocks)..I'm always a trouble maker! The tan was NOT an option! rotlf
My vote would be for the beige/tan. I think your 9 patches show up much better. I can't wait to see what you choose and the finished quilt.
I vote for the beige
How about the tan with a deep red inner border to perk it up? The blocks stand out nicely on the tan, but too much tan can be too bland. The dark red would cut the tan, I think.
I vote for the dark pink also. The square do pop on the tan but I am not sure I like them to do that in this case. Whatever you choose will be great I am sure!
They all look good but my vote goes for the red!
To me the beige looks too light, the red a bit too dark, so I would do the pink. But a darker beige would probably tempt me too.
I like the dark pink. I love the blocks!
I think the dark pink looks best. Red blends too much and beige is too much light space.
Red, pink, beige in that order - although the red and pink almost tied. They all look great!
I like the dark pink. The red seems too dark & the beige looks too washed out.
Gee, I sound like "baby bear", you know, "this one's too big, this one's too small, but THIS one is just right"!! LOL
Sorry, I have a headcold. . .and the meds must be kicking in.
Have a wonderful day,
Sherry
I vote for the beige'tan in the middle with side setting and corner triangles with the pink - I didn't see than anyone else mentioned two colors. Good luck - it will be great no matter what. We'll all be watching.
Love the dark pink!
I think the dark pink looks the best. The red blends with the red block and the beige blends with the light in the blue block.
I vote for the pink.
I was never thinking beige, but I swear I think I might have to use that myself with mine. Makes them stand out all the colors show up bright and cherry.
Either the watermelon or the dark pink. I definetly wouldn't choose the tan. I can't wait to see what you are going to do with these little 9 patches!
I vote for the tan/beige.

Dark Pink; it gives it a vintage look!
Have to go with the dark pink...
I love the beige/tan. Then your blocks will really show up. Are you gonna do a 30's block swap?? I want to do it!!
I vote for the dark pink. Love the sort of vintage look that gives.
Love that dark pink!! Looks like an old vintage quilt :-)!
I like the tan/biege - very cute! Hope that helps!
I vote for #3!
Definitely the tan!
I like the pink:)
I like the dark pink or the red.
the dark pink will allow the red blocks to show up better...both would be historically correct in mho
beautiful :)
I love nine patches.

My vote is DARK PINK!!!! Pretty, pretty, pretty! Now, having said that, you go ahead and do whatever your heart desires, my friend - it's your quilt! LOL!!
I also love your idea of the 30's and white swap - if it is open to other bloggers, I wanna play, too!!Please???
Dark pink...it's going to be cute no matter what you choose though :)
Well, since I have been at work and not able to comment for a long time I don't know if it is too late or not - but I will comment anyway -LOL
I like the dark pink. It reminds me of the old 1860 type Civil war fabric and goes so well with the nine patch.
If you are thinking of a 30's fabric block swap I have lots of that fabric and that would be a swap I would enjoy.
Love the little Raggedy Annie -- too cute!!
I like the dark pink best. Love the little 9 patch quilt you were sent - very cute :)
Like the pink!!! Sounds like you are off for a fun weekend...
If the tan was a little darker, I'd vote for that one. But I think it might blend a little too much with some of the 9 patches.
And with the red (although it's a great fabric) you'll lose your red blocks.
So if the blocks you laid out is a good representation of the colour of your blocks, then I would vote for the pink (and not just because I LOVE pink!!)
