A Whole Lot Of Cutting Going On!

Today I had what I refer to as a "low profile day". I spent the entire day in my sewing room with my thoughts! I've been thinking about sewing and future projects so I started planning and cutting! I seem to be more productive when I've taken the time to precut a project or two. So, today I did all the cutting for three projects. I don't care for "prep work" but I have to admit that I had a lot of fun. :-) A perfect way to spend a cold and rainy day. We have snow on the mountains nearby! BRRRRR

Very soon I need to spend some time doing the "prep work" for some hand projects - embroidery and hand applique!

Tomorrow I'll start cutting a 4th project! My dear friend, Nan and I have been chatting for several months about doing a Jelly Roll project together. After some discussion we decided to use the same pattern but different Jelly Rolls. We're using a pattern called "House Call" and I'm going to use my Shangri-La Jelly Roll. Pop over to Nan's Blog to see which Jelly Roll she plans to use. We agreed to show our finished projects at the end of the month.

Time to unroll that Jelly Roll and let the cutting begin. :-)

I hope you found some JOY in your corner of the world today. I appreciate that you spend a few minutes reading my blog and I love your comments! Come again!

In Friendship!

OOO, I can't wait to see your quilt. I have that jelly roll, plus a couple of others, and I have been undecided as to what to make from them. I like that pattern, where can I get it?

I'll watch your progress along with Nan's - what fun! I had to enlarge the fabric photo and see a precut pile of sweet 1930's ..... so, looks like I'll be back to see what you make out of those. Hugs and take care.

I love jelly rolls they make quilts go together so easily. I have one that I am undecided what I'm going to do with it. So can't wait to see your finished project. Maybe it will inspire me.

That's one big pile of cutting done...I have a blockage when it comes to cutting a lot of fabric at once...it must be more productive than my little bits here and there. I love the fabric roll you picked.
I look forward to the unveiling.

Well you know what is more dangerous than disliking prep work? Liking prep work! I have so many projects ready to go and keep making more. I don't get them worked on! I actually caught up with my applique though and have to prep some more for that one this weekend!

Ok you got me. i just ordered this pattern and want to do one too. LOl I have linked you to my blog and would love to hear about your progress. The one thing that I couldn't find anywhere is how much additional fabric do you need for the borders? i want to order my jelly roll and my border fabrics but can't find an amount online. Thanks for any help you can give me. JoyB
