Extra, Extra
Read All About It!!!

Some of you already know that Darlene's quilting MOJO is gone. We're not sure if it's 'burn out or a slump' but we do know that she's not spending any time with her needle and thread.

So, since it's been more than 10 days since Darlene has posted we're here to make an official announcement.......................

This blog is officially on a hiatus until further notice.

Please feel free to e-mail Darlene at any time as we know she'd love to hear from you. She appreciates all the sweet e-mails she's received recently - keep 'em coming.

psst, psst if you can think of anything that will help us help Darlene get back to her quilting please leave a comment with your suggestion.

In Friendship,
The Wabbit Daze Gang

I noticed a few others are/have been taking blog breaks (myself included) lately. Work on what you love and don't worry about posting .... just go back and pick up that needle and thread and when you are ready to come back we will be here. :o)

OK.....I'll wait here for your return. I may have to pop in on your email every now and then though to keep me going.

Time heals all mojo's - just give it time and enjoy the break. Don't stress! I for one am not going anywhere.
I think it's kind of like insomnia - the more you stress about it, the more you can't sleep. So relax, go window shopping for something other than fabric, watch some mindless tv, pick up a crossword. It'll come back when you least expect it!

MOJO lost???? Oh No.

Well, you know, it's always the last place you look. I hope you stumble across it soon.

Take care - you will be missed.

Get your hands on a copy of the Hancock's of Paducah catalog. I call it The Wish Book. It gets my juices flowing and I've made a number of imaginary quilts just browsing through the pages. You can request one at www.hancocks-paducah.com.

It will be back. Just do something else you enjoy while you wait for it! Hugs! :0)

With fall coming, it's the perfect time to take long walks and enjoy God's creation! This might revive your spirit and get you back into a creative mode. We'll miss you - but enjoy the break!

Hi, Wabbits! My suggestion is to read to Darlene out of antique quilt books (be sure to turn the book around to show her the pictures :-) ).

Seems to be the season for blog breaks - hope you (the gang) don't get into too much trouble while she is gone. I'd watch that wagon on hills!!!

I've been feeling the same slump in my quilting desire. I have determined that it is because I am trying to finish up so many UFO's that I don't have any enthusiasm for. The joy I used to find in quilting has turned to work. I'm not sure how to fix this problem because on the one hand I'm not enjoying the journey but on the other hand I am getting lots of things done. Sigh~

Sorry to hear you lost your mojo. I've lost my Muse. Maybe we can help each other.

I recommend you go spend time playing with fabric. Always helps me get my mojo back, or go out to lunch and plan a quilting activity with some quilting friends.

Hi there Wabbits...Please help Darlene take the time she needs...make her rest, relax and do whatever makes her happy. We'll be here when she comes back. Take good care of her.

Hi there Wabbits! Please tell Darlene that we will all be here waiting when she comes back ;-) Cause see, we LIKE Darlene, and we want to hear from her. And could you maybe tell her that maybe taking a class somewhere might help ignite that fire again?? Just a little thought. Thanks Wabbits. You all take care of our Darlene OKAY??

I don't have to make it come back. Mine's in low gear itself.
I've been cross stitchin. Any way I love reading about your adventures.

Hey Wabbit Gang....tell Darlene we're here whenever she needs us - maybe a break and a rest is all that's needed - we'll look forward to her return!
Cheers!

Most of us will still be here, having brief or not-so-brief breaks also.

Hope you come back soon - you will be missed. 8-)))

There's nothing wrong with taking a break from a hobby if it starts to feel like an obligation. I am in a serious slump with my knitting, but my quilting mojo is taking up the slack. Perhaps it's time to pick up another older hobby that hasn't gotten as much attention lately? Cross-stitch, knit, whatever else you used to do? Or, if you really want to prod the mojo a bit rather than just waiting for it, try looking through old magazines, or reading the Elm Creek Quilt series or the Benni Harper quilting mysteries. After all, if you don't feel the mojo after reading those books, you'lll still have had a good wander through fun stories!

Good luck. A missing mojo is no fun. I'd rather like my knitting mojo to come back, but it left after a traumatic event, so I'm giving it time.

We're here for you my friend...mojo or no mojo.

Kim Brackett said...

Oh no! I thought her mojo came back for a while there. I understand the need for a break and will be here when she gets back. I'm thinking about sending you a rope so that when her mojo shows back up, you can tie it up to a chair!

For every thing there is a reason - best wishes to Darlene and please let her know I will be so happy to see her return. Thanks for the message and the delightful trolley of softies!

I will miss you and I will miss seeing your projects because I love your style. I will be patient and keep checking back. Take your time and remember why you started quilting in the first place. Maybe that will help you. A big hug for you.

Oh Darlene, hugs to you today!! You take all the time you need for your hiatus. I am going to keep you in my blogroll and wait for you to feel better. I think you will feel better when you get a breather. Sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to post....or get a WIP done...or our stacks of fabric taunts us that we need to do something with it. Go back to the time when you discovered quilting. What was it that you loved about it? Maybe just sit with needle and thread and do a little project just for you and no one else. Or take a break from it all and eat chocolate! heeheehee
Sending some blogger support to you today,
dawn

Hi there wabbits! Go buy Darlene a copy of the new Quilt Sampler magazine or maybe Quilter's Home or maybe stuff fat quarters under her pillow. Maybe they will attract her mojo back, you know, like the tooth fairy.

Anyway, tell her we'll be here sending her quilt mojo vibes!

I know how you feel. Sometimes the mojo is just gone, or at least on vacation. See you back soon I hope.

Janet said...

The mojo must have gone for a reason, I'm sure the wabbits will help you find it. We'll wait patiently.

I always focus on what I love about quilting and why I do it (same as blogging) and ignore all the rest. It's always hard for me around quilt show time because everyone will have an opinion on the quilts I show.
So I remind myself of why I do this and what I love about it, and let the rest go.
When in a slump, I also read about quilting - magazines and books, until I am itching to start another project and wild horses couldn't keep me away from my sewing machine!! LOL
No worries my quilting friend...we'll all be here when you come back. After all, I am still waiting to see what you do with quilting your "Journey of a QUilter" top!!

Well, have fun and rest on your hiatus!!

Darlene.. not to worry.. I too had a mojo lapse but it is returning!! once the weather changes and all the fall duties are put to sleep your mind will start with your creativity again not to worry.. the first thing I would say to help is don't stress over it.. blogging is not an obligation and we all go through it...hugs

Yesterday I went to a quilt show with some friends! What a great place to get inspiration and that little "umph" we need at times. Surround yourself with creativity. Hop on over to Houston for their big show in October or one of the smaller ones near you. Take a class at a local quilt shop - even if it's something simple. Look at quilt magazines and on-line web sites as well as quilt blogs.

Most of all give yourself lots of hugs!

Hi There Wabbits - Thanks for the update on Darlene. Tell Darlene for me that I just know her mojo is still there deep down inside waiting for the right time to come out. Hug her for me and tell her I'll probably email her now and then to say Hi.

All bloggers deserve a break now & then but I sure miss you when you take one. Don't stay away long. And I will be e-mailing you, never fear.

Take care of yourself first Darlene. I know there was a while this year where I just walked away from my sewing machine for a few weeks. I hope that you might occasionally blog to let us know how you are doing. I will miss seeing your creativity but your health and happiness are more important.

Hi Darlene. I hope you're enjoying your blog break. I'll be watching for your return.

It's supposed to be fun and not an obligation. Maybe make some simple charity quilts - the thought of cheering up a little one with a snuggly quilt or comfort an alzheimer patient may help.

Hark is that the sound of surf breaking on the beach. Take a vacation, read a good book, sunbathe, hike up a mountain, whatever strikes your fancy. Walk away from the fabric for a while. Go on force yourself :) See where it takes you :)

ENJOY every moment, dear. Yet I do hope this is only a break.

Hum.... how are you my friend? It's been so long since we've connected! I don't know, I just cannot seem to balance everything! My life has been much too busy for my taste. I'm pretty much at a stand still at the moment.

Wanna come for a visit? We'll enjoy the autumn beauty and cool weather while sipping some wine! Maybe you can help me with the feel of the shoppe! Perhaps that would help you with your mojo. I'll take you to the quilted crow! We can stop at Keepsakes if you want! Just making some suggestions.

I'm off to visit my good friend Wendy! It's not that I don't think about you guys! It's really a matter of balance! I haven't mastered that yet! Maybe I should go for my PhD. Seems I did much better at bloggin when I was busy with my master! lol Hugs my friend! Cheers!
