SNOWBOUND
(for you & me) I really enjoyed working on Anne Sutton's 2009 free BOM - "Tisket a Tasket". It was fun to anticipate the arrival of a new block every month!
So, now in 2010 I'm excited about Anne's new free Block of the Month - Snowbound. Have you seen it? Just visit the free pattern section at Anne's website Bunny Hill Designs to download and print the first block.
I don't plan to applique this particular project - just embroider. If you're a regular reader of my blog then you know that I really enjoy handwork (need to keep my hands busy when I sit to watch TV or just sit) :-)
I have an offer for YOU (definition of YOU - a regular reader & commenter on my blog)
the gift that keeps on giving in 2010. I will embroider these designs two times every month - one for you and one for me!
So, leave me a comment and tell me why you'd enjoy receiving an envelope every month with a "Snowbound" block. (12 envelopes ready & waiting for your name & address)
Be prepared to make a few decisions if you're selected as the winner - stitched on white or natural muslin and red or blue variegated floss (unless you'd prefer a non variegated floss color)
Disclaimer: This is for the embroidered blocks only - you'll have to make the quilt top.
I promise to send a block every month unless something drastic happens in my life that would prevent that from happening!
Let the games begin - I'll be back on Friday morning to announce the winner! Good luck!
I appreciate your visits - remember 2010, for me, is all about "Gratitude & Generosity".
In Friendship!

Wow, that such a generous thing to do. I've been toying with the idea of doing this BOM but there are so many existing UFOs I should be concentrating on finishing. Best wishes.
Oh My gosh Darleen.. are you serious... you are amazing... I was so happy when this new BOM was announced and I thought..Oh.. Maybe I can do this...maybe I can make this IF I START NOW and not in september..lol...I so wanted to make tisket a tasket.. and nope.. it still isnt made... So... my hopes is that you do one for me and one for you.. because then I can be sure it is going to be made..;o) Otherwise.. I have to make it for myself dont I??? Good luck everyone.. isnt she amazing..our Darlene..:o)
Oh my goodness! What a generous thing to do! I didn't do her last BOM because I never could find the time (although I do plan to do it someday). I think if you made a set of these for me, it might be the only way I'd ever have them to make into a quilt! Thank you so much for this offer Darlene! :0)
Well, this has got to be at the top of kind and generous things to offer. I'm hoping to make the applique blocks for a friend who loves snowmen. Your embroidery blocks would make into a lovely quilt for my mom who loves the simple embroidery look.
My, Oh My ! Darlene, this is sooo generous of you ! THANKS, dear !
Oh, I definitely would LOVE receiving such a block each month, especially stitched by YOU ;>)
That was a first good reason, wasn't it ? ;>) Another one is that I'm still working on finishing some 2009 BOM's, and promised myself I wouldn't start any new one for the moment. Last year was a tough one and I wasn't very productive... now is the time to catch up !
So, my friend, in case I'd be the lucky, lucky winner, this would be a real BONUS ! As usual, I'm now crossing my fingers and toes ;>)
... though wishing good luck to all participants, of course!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
NADINE
Wow...I would so love this...I was thinking you were going to propose a trade...I really love this quilt!
Oh Darlene you are just so generous. I would love to have Bunny Hill blocks. I could not do the tisket a tasket, but it looks like everyone did a beautiful job. I'd love to be considered and thank you so much for offering to make a second block.
Wow, what an amazing thing to offer and do for some lucky someone. Wow, again! Thank you for your generosity of heart.
Wow, that is very generous! I would love to win and get a present in the mail every month! I thought about doing the stitcheries last year but am new to it and having some problems doing knots. Maybe this year I can get atleast one done (between sewing and knitting) Way to many hobbies and not enough time!
Are you kidding???????? Please enter my name in your draw. I will answer any questions you want!!!!LOL
I had fun doing the baskets too! I'm looking forward to making the snowmen, since my daughter collects snowmen and displays them at Christmas time. When I'm through I'll give the quilt to her. No need to include me in your give away...I just wanted to comment!
This is so sweet of you Darlene. I have a huge snowmen collection so it would be wonderful to receive these blocks as well. I have been admiring all of the embroidery blocks but don't know if I will have time to do one this year. As well, it would be we great to have something made by you.
What a wonderfully generous thing to do! I haven't been a regular commenter because I just found you a week or so ago, so I'll watch for who your lucky winner is. :-)
I'd love to get your work! I'm not proficient enough yet at embroidery to do justice to Anne's designs.
I never did get more then one block fully done of Tisket Tasket.
You are so cool to do this.
wowsa...that is very awesome..I definitely will put my chance in for this. My friend and I were just talking about this block this morning...
OMG...are you serious?? I would love to get an envelope every month with an embroidered block...
We are putting our house up for sale next month and I am not going to have time to do any handwork except for constantly keeping the house clean...and laundry done...
Winning would be wonderful...
Wow, Darlene, you are so sweet to offer you extra embroidery block to some lucky winner1
I want to ask you about that hoop. Is that the kind you use all the time and how do you like it? I use the one with a screw on it and wondered about the kind in your picture.
Because I do embroidery I know the time it takes and I would greatly appreciate a block a month. I love snowmen and I plan to do this block probably in wool if I don't win your precious blocks. Thanks for letting me enter.
What a generous offer, Darlene! I am glad that Anne decided to offer us another year of blocks. I printed out the first one yesterday.
Oh my goodness!!! I would love the embroidered blocks. I'm going to do the appliqued blocks. I've toyed with embroidery a little bit but I'm not very good at it. Your set would be my inspiration to do more embroidery.
What a sweet give-away. I would like to have a block because then I wouldn't have to make it. LOL I am still working on the basket blocks - but I'll get there one day.
Wow Darlene! You're going over the top with gratitude and generosity. I don't need the blocks -- just wanted to say what a super nice thing to do!
OMG! What an amazing/generouse offer! I have bought all of the supplies to start embrodering in the evening while I watched TV. I even have a stack of patterns. I just haven't got started. (When I was 8 or 9, my "BlueBird" leader told me that the hankerchef I had embrodered was the worst thing she had ever seen! Needless to say, she didn't like me!)(I can't believe that just popped into my head).
I'm going to be stitching right along beside you my friend so please don't pick me. I'm just here to offer encouragement and maybe a little hand cream for your soon-to-be "work-worn" fingers.
You are waaay more than generous. Darlene. BIG hugs to you.
Oh my gosh Darlene what a wonderful RAK!!! Well you really should pick me since I love stitcheries and snowmen are my FAVORITE and I am not a stitcher. I repeat...I am NOT a stitcher. I followed every single Tisket Tasket BOM and loved watching them come to life.
How super nice of you Darlene. I would enjoy getting these embroidered blocks each month because I just love embroidery, it's simple and gives that cozy homemade touch that I enjoy decorating my home with. I would love red with white fabric if I were to be lucky enough to win.
OMG! What a generous offer. I'm thinking of embroidering the blocks as well. But, if I win, I will make them into a donated quilt.
Sign me up!!! This is a very generous offer and oh my goodness I'd be delighted to have a gifty from you each month! I'm trying to think what can I trade?!! Here's hoping I'm picked with fingers crossed!!
Dang Darlene, what a generous offer! I can't imagine stitching two of these - but you probably don't have to hold your stitching up to your nose like me, lol. I'm really hoping to do this one this year!
Gosh this is the most generous thing anyone could do for another person. I have already printed out the first pattern and am a fan of Annie Sutton as well, however I am not a hand person (I'm all thuumbs), so I will be doing the applique for a quilt. (after I do last years). I would love to be able to receive a special gift every month from you and would be sitting outside by the mailbox every month just waiting for the mailman to arrive. Thanks for being such an amazing person.
Hi Darlene -- that is quite the offer. I am not a stitcher but I know that would be a lot of work and that is very generous of you. I would love to be included in you give away because I would love to have a beautifully stitched project and I just don't know how to do it myself. I know I could sit down and learn - but I find myself stitching on that darn Dear Jane quilt instead and that's going to take me another decade at least!!
You offer is so generous - I hope you enjoy your year of stitching the blocks and it gives you great pleasure - as much as your gift!
You come up with some of the most awesome ideas. This is such a generous thing to do...I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed.
Good luck to all!
wOw, wOw, WOW!!! You are one amazing person, and SO generous!
I would LOVE to be entered in this giveaway and be the lucky winner.
I am speechless, except for wOw.....

Hi Darlene ~ From reading the comments, I see everyone is really overwhelmed (as I am!) that you would delight in giving away your stitching! What a wonderful example to us all of gratitude and generosity. Thank you!
Although I won your recent tabletopper giveaway, wouldn't I just LOVE a package arriving from you every month?!! I sure would!!! White cloth with red stitching is what I'd pick because I'm working on collecting red fabric for a red quilt. I could make it a red snowman quilt!!!
I would love to win anything you make because you have inspired me with your blog.
I am just happy to see you posting again with your mojo back.
Thank you,
Quilterbee
What a very generous offer.. I loved the other BOM, but unfortunatley its still on the go..I'd love to trade with you too (grovel grovel)?? I am sure Tim Tams are always a welcomed gifty from down under (tim tims chocolate biscuts, with chocolate cream dipped in yummy yummy chocolate)..mmmmmm...chocolate..
take care and enjoy your stitchin!

Darlene you are one amazing person...what a generous gift. I can only imagine the joy that would come with getting an envelope in the mail each month with your wonderful stitchery. OMG!
I'm sitting here amazed at your generosity....I'd be tickled with one block ...much less 12. It would be wonderful for lots of reasons. It's like getting a phone call from a friend. You enjoy it but when you hang up ---it's gone. The blocks would remind me over an over again of quilt friends. And with "quilter's Friendship" they always seem to pop packages in the mailbox for you to find on that "tough" day. I'd have 12 tough days covered....hopefully I wouldn't need more than that.... Thanks for throwing my name in the hat.....
What?! Did I read that right? It looks like it'll be another popular BOM that's for sure. If I won I'd look at it as a Christmas gift for 2009 and 2010! My family doesn't get me sweet quilty things for gifts and this would be so much fun...and it would be from YOU!
AWWWWesome!! what a great way to keep the incentive going your hands will be exceptionally busy. You asked why I would love to have a piece of your hand work..let me count the ways..LOL I am just so glad that you got your mojo back and able to enjoy the craft again!!
This would be so great!!! I love all of Anne's stuff and she is such a great person. I quilt but don't embroider so it would be such a treat to have the blocks that I could make into a quilt. What a generous person you are!
Are you too sweet or what, to offer such a great giveaway! I've been planning to learn to do embroidery, but have not found the time! Everything you do is gorgeous, and I'd be honored to have a quilt we made together in our home! You're a Sweetie Darlene!
Are you kidding me?!? What a great idea!
I would love to get something other than bills in the mail! And I would promise to sew the blocks into a beautiful quilt jiffy quick!
Hi Darlene!
What a lovely gesture of friendship! I would LOVE to win....the reason being...back in July I sat down and wrote my very first post and guess who left a comment on that very FIRST post! YOU!! I was AMAZED! I was THRILLED! Someone had actually read my post and left a comment so for that I thank you! That was such a lovely gesture of friendship! So I am not surprised that you are offering such a generous gift now...another offering of friendship.
Winning this give away would be a gift that I would truly cherish! A nice reminder of my very first posting and the hand of friendship!
Thanks so much for leaving that comment to the rookie blogger...it really meant a lot! Take care!

And I thought I was a little crazy... now, Oh, my gosh, you may have me beat!!!. I love the BOM of Bunny Hill. Last year I printed them all off and I will do the same this year. I intend to do them in applique. But I haven't started, trying to get a handle on the projects already in the works. I don't know how you have the time to stitch TWO sets, but if I would happen to win, I would surely accept any you would like to give!!! Thanks from one little bit crazy person to another!
That is so generous of you and a lot of work. However I would love to be the winner of this new BOM. I enjoy reading your blog and seeing projects you are working on. Thank you for the opportunity to win this.
Happy New Year, Bobbie
Oh,wow! Such a wonderful and generous thing to offer. I love redwork and have various pieces done from my ancestors which I cherish. I'd love to add yours to my collection. I'm planning on doing the applique version of Snowbound just as soon as I finish up the TAT one. I love snowmen!
That is an awesome thing you are doing. I have just discovered yours and some others wonderful blogs that are so generous in sharing patterns and now stitchery. Thank you for the offer.

another amazing RAK from Darlene!
I would love to receive a package in the mail each month as stitchery is not really my thing
I tend to pull the thread too tight then I make it too lose and it never really looks good . I love the look of them but I just never like mine as much as I like yours or others I see in blogland!
AND you know I LOVE snowmen!
thanks for the opportunity to maybe own a stitchery quilt!
and yes I have no problem sewing it into a quilt!
thanks Kathie
