A VERY Lazy Week!
(and a tiny pity party - LOL)
*
It's been a week since my last post and I wish I could tell you that's because I've been busy! LOL No, that's not why - I've just been very lazy! :-)
*
Week before last I did make block #4 of the Designer Block of the Month from the Fat Quarter Shop. I'm trying very hard to make these blocks as soon as they arrive. I'm really bad about that so I'm staying on task. LOL

Mary sent this wonderful pattern by Bird Brain Designs for my birthday in July. They're shown stitched in red on towels. I decided to stitch them in black on natural muslin (two more to stitch, yet). I think they will look fabulous in tea-dyed prim style quilt - still thinking about the setting. HMMMM. Any thoughts?

And, I've been working on the binding on a quilt - not mine so I can't show you. Sorry!

See, it has been a very lazy week. Sigh! LOL If you want to see lots of productivity you have to go visit Karen at Log Cabin Quilter - my goodness that woman has been incredibly productive- lots of eye-candy. ;-)
*
I'm not ashamed to admit that I've also been pouting a bit this week. LOL Why, you ask? Well, I can't seem to win a Go! Cutter but I'm trying hard not to care - LOL; the Paper Doll pattern I won from Lori at Bee in My Bonnet has not arrived (soon though) and there are so many adorable and fabulous wool projects all over blogland and I can't work with wool. So, I'm crying in my Caffeine Free Diet Coke. Yes, feel free to laugh at me. LOL :-)
*
It's time to pull up my big girl panties and get busy! I'm headed to my sewing room - what are you doing today?
*
I appreciate your visit - come again soon.
*
In Friendship!

Oh Darlene, I too have had a hard week. But your work is so lovely. Enjoy your time at the sewing machine.

I still can't believe you won that pattern! You lucky gal you! You'll have it done by the end of the year...right?

Today I'm sitting here in my room done with Ms. Crockett and trying finish the last four braids for my pioneer braid quilt. I started at 9:30 and have completed one...just pathetic...too many distractions!

Here's hoping you have a day filled with lots of sewing and no ripping.

Oh Darlene I completely feel your pain.. I have been neglecting my sewing, and blogging all summer, but it was not all because I was lazy. We did have lots of events this summer. Now that things are settling down I seem to be in slow mode and to add to that I have picked projects which are all time consuming. One good thing is that the friends are never far away even if the projects are few and far between!
A big girlfriend hug!

Your towels are so beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do with the new pattern. Today, I am cutting out kits to take to retreat next week...one is from my "new" Schnibbles patterns (thanks again).

Chin up on the GO!....it will happen....it is a vibe with me.

I had a lazy week too - worn out from our new routine at the Y! Sometimes you just need to chill, right? Love your block and your stitcheries. Go ahead and pout, girl....I was hoping to win a GO for a friend, but sigh, not to be. I can't work with wool either, and there are SO many cute patterns. I wonder how they would look in cotton???

Anything would seem like a non-productive week with what you've produced in the last little while, Darlene. You accomplished more in one week than most of us do in a year. Whether you know it or not, you're my hero!

I just love those little stitcheries. Do you have a little table in your sewing room where you can display it if you make it into a little table topper?

Have fun and enjoy your day...even if it means doing nothing. And I'm having a hot tea with honey and lemon to try to break this darn cold so think of me as you sip your coke.

Darlene, you still get more done than me in a week, when you're lamenting how lazy you are. So what does that make me? One day soon, inspiration will slap you in the face, and you'll be in a new race. Emjoy some downtime - it's good for you.

Love the little stitcheries! We're all allowed to pout every now and again. And you can come and play with my GO! any time you want to. :0)

Adorable little stitchings! I would say you've been plenty busy! Can't wait til we can see the quilt! :-)

I'm right beside you on the GO! ;-) My luck has been horrible too. LOL

I'm looking for brown thread today. I've even resorted to emptying a couple boxes. :-) I know I have it, but where?!

Have a happy day!

Darlene, I too am in a frump cause I can't win a GO! ... I mean, I don't understand why it is so hard to win one, after all, there are only about 10,000 quilter/crafters putting in on these giveaways! You would think out of that small number at least ONE of us would win...don't cha think??? *sigh* There are about 20 other regular giveaways I have put in on lately while I haven't been able to work at my sewing machine and I can't win so much as a piece of thread or a used tissue! **Heavier sigh** so it seems I spend all my time rotating between 3 things, computer, stitcheries, and resting. The stitcheries are of course the most fun. I've spent the last two days drawing up one of my own and plan to start stitching it tonight. I have to do something...I surely can't win anything. I don't drink the diet stuff so I'll just pout and cry in my regular cola. So my 'Wonder Quilter'...here's a toast o/___\o "too us, may we never buy a lottery ticket"! Hugs... (OH...your stitcheries are adorable, I love the black.)

Well I think you've accomplished a lot for one week. After the parade of quilts you did, I'd say a slower pace is deserved. Love the stitchery, I have that pattern as well, the black is a great idea.

OH DEAR!!! I forgot to comment on your productivity, or lack there of! Hey girlfriend...I didn't dub you my "Wonder Quilter" for nothing! My gosh, it is time for you to take a break...just a short one mind you, LOL. I have been to Karen's blog and her quilts are so wonderful, I had to use a napkin to keep the drool off my chin! Hugs...

Lovely stitchery and old fashioned looking ... what about simple 9 patches to go with the feel of the quilt?

It doesn't look like you've been lazy to me!!
I love Bird Brain. I see them on the road all the time. They even gave us a tour of their motor home they travel around in. What great gals!

Does it make you feel any better Darlene if I tell you I too am crying in MY caffeine free diet coke because I can't win a go for the life of me either?
Your stitching is lovely on the little blocks. How about lots of different black and tan plaid homespuns for blocks?

I feel alittle left out of all the GO! fun, too. But many of my bloggy friends keep giving me opportuunity so there is hope. You have that fantastic pattern from Lori (that I didn't win either but I did get excited for you when I saw you won:-) I said I know her but that doesn't keep me from being jealous...LOL!

Sarah Craig said...

I agree with you on the GO! Cutter - I'm trying really hard to win one too!

I am looking at my beautiful scissor fob from a very special friend, you. I am also trying not to cry about the amount of quilting to do in the next few weeks, and trying to decide what to do about Christmas.

Darlene, as usual your work is always a pleasure to see.

I love your little stitchery designs, very cute. You are very lucky winning the Paper Dolls pattern and you got those amazing basket blocks too, so you do have good luck and perhaps you will get lucky soon with a GO cutter. It's ok to be lazy but that's not how I would describe you, you get so much sewing done.

Carol said...

I forgot to say I think it's great that you've been getting your designer mystery blocks done, I haven't had time to make any of them yet despite my good intensions.

QuiltSue said...

My sulk about the Go! giveaways is that I already have a Go! and would love the chance to win more dies for it, but most of the giveaways are for both together, so I enter to win the cutter for a friend and I'll keep the dies. It's not happening though!

As for your go-slow on productivity, I would think that you need that after you made all those Schnibbles in about a day and a half. in about a month

Carol said...

Love those stitchery blocks...the black floss is awesome. You do an amazing job...I need Darlene stitching lessons...can I come sit on the couch with you?

Cindy said...

Well, you know what? After sewing all those quilts from Carrie's book, you deserve to be as lazy as you want for as long as you want untl your sewing tank fills up again.

Have a restful Sunday.

Loving block 4! I still need to put mine together...and you can bet that I'll have two little red strips on the side too :)

Way to keep up with that BOM! That's the best way to do it. I am enjoying that project vicariously through you...I am still patting myself on the back for not signing up for that one! I have to FOCUS on my UFO's!
Maybe your adorable stitchery blocks could put set with the 9 patch blocks from Julie's swap!??!

Sorry it was a not so good week - I hope your luck changes with the GO cutter. Hope next week is much better.

AnnieO said...

Pretty stitcheries--those would look terrific tea dyed!

I can't seem to win one of those cutters either, darnit! Nor can I keep up with my BOM--now eight months behind. Sigh. I'll join your pity party and cry into my Pepsi One!

You? Lazy? I hardly think so :) I love those little stitcheries, very cute!! I still haven't done block #4 I need to get busy on that, thanks for the reminder!

I suppose it was everybody's lazy week. Even I did not do much regarding quilting. Yet, even when working slowly, you can be productive.
Welld one on the work you have completed thus far.
