A simple question for you about ME! See I told you it would be all about ME soon. LOL*
I've been thinking about the past, present & future projects that come out of my sewing room and wondering about my style of quilting, hand embroidery, hand applique, etc.
*
How would you describe my style of quilting?
*Thank you for indulging me!

In Friendship!

Adventurous :-) You want to have a go at everything. Learn lots of techniques and feel lots of different textures and just plain have FUN :-) Enjoy
Cheers
Lynne
Gorgeous! :-) You are a prolific quilter, and your work is stunning!
Prolific and traditional! You do gorgeous work!
You are very traditional in my book...and at times I love that you step out of your comfort zone and surprise us!
I would say you are a precise quilter. Take time and do it right. You don't seem to be much into bright fabrics although you play with them sometimes because the fabrics are just too cute. I think I agree with Sherri, you're a traditional pattern kind of gal.
Yep, I agree with the others, traditional but fun! I love all the projects you make! Have a good night!
That is a tough question! I would say prolific, and diverse...you are equally talented with machine and hand projects. I think you could do anything you put your mind to!
Traditional, definitely talented and prolific! and obviously having a wonderful time :-)
Energetic! And I would say traditional but adventurous. Did I mention energetic?
I have not followed your blog enough to know your style. I just have a feeling it is on the cutting edge of design!
I would say . . . maybe, traditonal with a twist? It's hard to categorize that type of thing. If you're not sure (which I totally get), I have a hard time with it too.
I would say "cottage whimsical" style. Cottage - speaks to traditions and values and the lighter colours you sometimes choose and whimsy because it describes your amazing stitcheries!
I would say traditional with lots of energy and adventure mixed in.
I think you love traditional piecing and like symmetry. You enjoy stitchery on the side and know what you love.
FUN
I think you enjoy your work... you don't work with brights much. You are a wonderful piecer. I think like most you like traditional but also engage in a challenge now and again!
Tradizionale con un pizzico di modernità, che è poi quello che piace anche a me....
Ciao Domenica
Prolific!!! I mean a whole book (Schnibbles) of quilts in a very short period of time...who does that? My big sis that's who :) I love what you do whatever you call it!!
Let me see, where do I start...
Fun, happy, curios, wonderful...shall I continue? Your work is a great inspiration, and I enjoy seeing your work progress. Your work does lean to be traditional...with a twist - like Ytsmom said. And I love it!!!

Very varied. I'd be interested to know how YOU would describe it.
From the heart.
Everything you make exudes warmth and caring...just like the person you are.
For me it is cozy. English is not my mother tongue, as you can see :-), but in my mother tongue - czech, if something is appealing to me, is very warm, friendly and I can imagine to have it, or buy it... I always describe it like COZY. So for me is on the top of everything. Not modern, not antique, but I have to feel it at home with everything. So ... Interesting question. And I have to tell you, that this is exactly why I started to make some quilts too. It started when I see many COZY bedrooms filled with quilts in american movies. And I felt this warmth from it. Hope you understand my explanation.
Greetings from autumn Prague, Czech Republic
I had a quick glance back through your blog and I'd describe your quilting style as Shabby Chic. I looked at the fabrics you choose and that's what I see. A casual elegance and comfortable.
In a word...diverse.
hmm..I read the other commments..and I am torn. I see traditional and precise, prolific...tough to say it one word.
Traditional with a cottage look.
You---are---**drum roll here please** "WONDER QUILTER" *crash of symbols and 10 seconds of exciting music* ... Need I say more?
Truly Darlene, I love everything you share with us. You are everything a quilter should be, kind, caring, generous, and amazingly productive. Your work is always, always beautiful and the variety of your work delights me to no end. And NO, I'm not exagerating or buttering you up...it is the way I see you. Big Hugs....
My first thought is traditional, but with fresh fabrics. Eclectic. You do a variety of needlework and sewing. Up to a challenge to make yourself grow:)
Cozy and traditional - and lots of fun.
The note you end your posts with "In Friendship" is most appropriate because I would describe your style as "friendly." Your quilts are lovely, but not untouchable. When I see one I want to feel it and cuddle up to it. In my book that is just how a quilt is supposed to look.
I believe you are without a doubt a traditionalist. Your sense of style is dramatic too with an underlying edge..How is that? lol
Well rounded. Mix of vintage repro with traditional. I like your style.
Hi there Darlene - this first word that came to mind for me when I read this was Prolific - as in
2. Producing abundant works or results: a prolific artist. You do so many wonderful things - and so many different things!
Traditional yes but also cottagy and fun...love your quilts!!!!
Ok Darlene.. You do everything ( well almost) with LOVE... and that is what I like watching when I visit you.. it might be traditional quilts... new ones... mostly you have a love for the softer palette than the brighter one.. even if you tried.. :o)) so I cant come up with a fancy word for your style... so I stick with LOVE..:O))
When I discovered your blog you were making schnibbles. I think that from the why and what of those quilts I thought you were up to try different things, but within a traditional concept. And I loved the fabrics you were using. So I agree with other commenters in that you seem to be traditional and adventurous. And yes, I can't believe how much quilting you accomplish (and that was before you got a GO!) :)
I would say that you are an enthusiastic quilter who has not forgotten where quilting began and as quilters are supposed to you share the joy of quilting and inspire many.
I think that you are a very traditional quilter, and you love quilting.

Knock, Knock, Knock....anybody home???? Operator, Operator, hello???? Darlene, I was just thinking about you and hoping all is well. I hope you are sewing up a storm. I hope I can get my new sewing room organinzed so that I can sew up anything...I settle for a short, light drizzle if I could just get finished with it to sew a bit. Hubby is trying to organize a couple of other rooms in the house and Lord Bless Him...every time I start to work on the sewing room, he needs my opinion on something in the rooms he is working soooooo...it's slow going. Ah well, I do get to sit and do some stitcheries in the evenings while we watch the World Series. Why don't I work on my sewing room then you ask??? Because by about 4 in the aftenoon, my feet are swollen, my joints are screaming and all I want to do is sit down, LOL. Ahhh, the perils of Scleroderma! We take what we get and run with it...er, walk with it as it were. Anyway, didn't mean to vent, just really checking on my Wonder Quilter. Hugs...Big ones...
Traditional with a modern twist. Quilts with clean lines. I LOVE your quilts in pastels and flowers. In one word...FABULOUS!
Spectacular! I thought about this question long and hard, and all I know is that I always want to make whatever you make.
