An Idea That Worked!
:-)
*
I have many, many ideas constantly floating around in my head - sometimes they work and sometimes well, not so much. LOL This particular idea worked and it made me so happy!*
My dear friend Carol of Brown Quilt 4 Me had a birthday in November and I wanted to send something DIFFERENT, because you know I'm normally a big old copy cat. I saw this adorable quilt on Karen's blog (aka Farmhouse Woolens) and promptly ordered the whole kit from her. It just said "CAROL" to me - yes, quilts speak to me. :-) The kit arrived and I promptly got busy - the letters are wool - I'm quite proud of myself. BTW, rather than drawing the letters individually I copied them onto Transfer-Eze (you know I love that stuff), adhered it to the wool and cut out my letters - easy peasy!

I love this little quilt so now I want to make one for me. teehee!
Now my big idea that worked! LOL I've been wanting to make a quilt holder like the one in the picture for ME but decided it would be fun to make a small one for Carol's little quilt first. So I enlisted the help of Mr Daze and he got busy. A piece of wood, three large clothes pins, spray paint, etc and it was DONE! Easy peasy with fabulous results - if I do say so myself. LOL

I've got Mr Daze (aka Ron) busy making quite a few of these because some very special friends will be receiving one, as well. Seriously, wouldn't you want one? And, if you think you do then stay tuned because I'll be giving one away right here on my blog very, very soon!
My 2nd Annual Christmas Ornament Exchange party was a smashing success! I'll post a picture or two soon.

I appreciate your visit - come again soon!

I saw this over at Carol's and LOVED it - told her I think that's the cutest quilt hanger ever! The quilt is really darling, I really have to get some of that transfer stuff. Tracing is the part I hate the most!
The quilt is great and I love the holder. Lucky Carol.
Well, my goodness, Darlene, if that pattern "said" Carol to you, then you spell CAROL - A-Z. LOL I love it!!! You're so nice. And I'm sure Carol just loved it.
And Mr.Daze dig a fabulous job on the quilt hanger. An original!! An awesome Original!!
I love anything small, so this precious little quilt speaks to me! Looking forward to hearing about your party.
I love the quilt and the quilt holder! Way to go Mr. Daze!
I'm thinking you need to keep him around. From the jars to the quilt holder, his little projects are winners. Or maybe its that you two make a dynamic duo ~ you come up with the concept and then he figures out how to make it. So change that to Way to Go, Dazes!
Wonderful quilt holder! Looking forward to hearing about the party.
YOU are an amazing and wonderful friend!
Love the quilt holder and the quilt. Fabulous gift for a friend!
It is a fabulous quilt holder. The quilt is so sweet.
That quilt is darling! I thought it was full size!! Love the quilt holder too. Mr. Daze is quite talented!
Oh Well Done Darlene!!! Everything about both the little quilt and the quilt holder is delightful! Big Hugs...
Don't you love it when everything falls into place? Great quilt and hanger!! You two make a good team!
Super cute. Good for you. Keep Mr. Daze goin!
A total success all the way around. Great job to you both!!
Darlene - it is so adorable! I saw this little project, too, and drooled over it! Great job with the wool - I have some Transfer EZ but have yet to try it - sounds like a fantastic product! Mr. Daze is so handy - maybe he's begun a new cottage industry? I know I would buy one!
Cheers!
I saw that quilt on Carol's blog. How nice of you to make it for her. You are really getting into the wool.
Mr. D did a great job too.
Boy you got that one done really fast - Carol is a lucky girl :). That quilt holder is awesome, perfect for that small quilt and I LOVE the color :).
Happy Holidays - karen

Very cute Darlene! I applaud your husband as well! What a great duo you are!
That's an adorable quilt Darlene. I'm sure your friend Carol will love it. I bet it's even more beautiful in person, I just love wool.
That is such a gorgeous quilt...she showed it on her blog, and I just love it!
Darlene:
Thanks for the great idea on the stockings. I forgot to mention in the post that there will be three of them serving together when he goes back. I've updated the post to show that. Also, I'll check into why you're not updating on my blog roll. I don't see this post on there. Dang blogger is messing with me again, lol! Okay, it could be the user (meaning me!). I'll fix it bz I've loved your blog and didn't realize that it had disappeared recently. I'm glad you left a comment so I could notice that.
