When It Rains, It Pours
(thunder & lightening)

After 5 days in the hospital Mr Daze (Ron) came home! WooHoo!!!! I'll spare you all the sordid details but suffice it to say that we got good news and bad news. He came home with 5 new medical prescriptions and some life changing instructions. Sigh! His cardiologist was on vacation while Ron was in the hospital so he'll have to see him this week and a very other appointments are on the schedule. It is what it is and we'll adjust.

Ron and I want to thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts! You've truly touched our hearts. :-)

When it rains it pours - sigh! Yesterday afternoon I received news that my Mom has been admitted to the hospital in Texas and is in ICU. The list of challenges is long - a severe bladder infection causing problems with her kidneys, an ovarian cyst and a 6 cm aneurysm - she's a very sick woman and walking time bomb. Sigh!!!

I've tried to reply to your comments however bear with me, please! I don't mind telling you that my mind and heart are all over the place.

I hope that life in your corner of the world is good. Take care of your loved ones and yourself.

In Friendship!

Darlene, don't worry about replying to emails. You have enough on your plate. My MIL also went through a really tough time 2 1/2 years ago. She started with a bladder infection, which turned into severe dehydration. It was touch and go for a while. She is currently living at home with round the clock care from her 5 children. It's been a tiring 2 1/2 years for everyone, but she is happy to be able to stay in her own home. Thinking of you and all you will be facing.

And as others are writing, please take good care of yourself through all of this.

No worries about replies - you have more important things to tend to - and here's some sparkles and twinkles to help you through these times. A new schedule is always hard - but doable - and our best for your mom at this time - and for you too - hope you can take a few minutes (seconds) of time for yourself - I know how hard that is to do - but at least think about giving yourself a little break. It helps even if you just think about it. And tell those wabbits to pitch in - they are healthy and can pull things around in their wagon for you. :-)

Oh my goodness Darlene..you are not kidding when it rains it pours! You have to feel pulled in both directions here!
We got a call that my MIL is back in the hospital after having had a back surgery about a month or so ago! She got an infection and it came from having a pedicure! She'll be in the hospital for several days fighting this thing off.
Life is short....love those who are close for sure! More prayers being sent your way!!!

The news about your mother is indeed a stunning blow and terribly disheartening, in addition to Ron's issues this is quite a load to carry. It's incredible how things like this fall right on the heels of the another stressful event. I hope our support helps to carry you through as you have helped us along the way as we have faced challenges and fear of one kind or another. Kind words make a big difference, helps us cope in especially difficult times. Makes me smile to see that many friends are leaving their thoughts and prayers here for you and your family. Here's a big hug and a prayer to help get you through each day. In friendship. Kim

Oh Darlene .... I know what you are going through and it rained on me big time when my Mom was getting ready to leave this world. Between dealing with her and my husband's health issues and having to be 400 km from him ... I tell you it was hard and I got sick twice. It is rough and you have to be strong for everyone.

Lots of hugs and prayers are heading your way.

Take care, stay strong and breathe.

Quilting and lots of hand piecing helped me a lot to get through those rough times.

Darlene,
I feel compelled to write this to let you know you and Ron are in my prayers and thoughts. Also, my husband also has an enlarged heart with other medical diagnosis(es) and has been successful with this condition for 7 years now. He was first diagnosed in 2004 and neither one of us thought he'd be here long. Anyways, if you need a friend, I'm here and have traveled down a similiar path. Jane
