Back in the day......
Before quilting took over my life it was consumed with x-stitch. I x-stitched for over 20 years - even had a successful shop for approximately 6 years while living in Texas. These are stitched on 18 count linen with perle cotton and are designed by Sherpherd's Bush in Ogden, UT.
I do miss x-stitching and long to do it again but my eyes don't like the idea - LOL
Those were the days!
For the next few days I'll be in the throes of finishing gifts for friends but sadly I'm suffering some stress and angst. Why? Well, I'm asking myself.... will this be enough, will she like it, etc. Sigh - such silliness! I'm planning to get packages in the mail by the end of the week.
I hope your days are pieceful and stress-free.
In Friendship!

Well I only have one thing to say about that! If they don't like it, then you need to get new neighbors! I'm making the Rolo thingies too - we go through LOTS of those!
Your stockings are exceptionally wonderful - cross stitch was the first craft obsession 25 years ago. I hadn't cross stitched in probably 15 years and only recently picked it up again and yes, the eyes are not happy.
Every item on your post looks good enough to eat! Can I be your neighbor? Your stockings are amazing.
Yummy looking treats! I need to get making some of these!
I'll be your neighbor, and I can assure that everything will be loved. I need to make some more Rolo treats before we eat all the Rolos. Love your bell ornaments.
It's just not a good idea to look at your beautiful candy this early in the morning! Lovely stockings. Isn't it interesting how all our other craftiness disappeared when quilting came into our lives?
Love your pretzels - so festive and they look yummy! X stitch was an obsession for me too back in the 80's/early 90's. If I don't have any binding to sew, I've got some UFO ornaments I'm stitching at night. OTT light is a must!
I'm sure your friends will love their gifts. I'm struggling with gifts this year too, so much commercialism takes away from the season of giving. Nothing better than a hand made gift! Enjoy!!
STOP WORRYING!
omg I love rolo's have to find that recipe
or maybe not!

Love your neighbor gifts, looked for the bell on pinterest but couldn't find it. Just posted the Rolo pretzel bites last night and going to make those for a few friends. Beautiful stockings------I'm an old (literally) cross stitcher also. Your a Texas girl----who knew?
I love The Shepherd's Bush but like you can't do cross stitch anymore due to my eyes. I have cross stitched stockings too for my family that I made. I actually am about an hour away from Ogden and used to love to go there to SB. Your ideas are wonderful but I'm wondering what the meaning of the bell as Pinterest has it, if any? I need some fun new ideas for neighbors too.
Pinterest nets some really good ideas and you put one to good use.
Those Rolo treats look yummy, Darlene! Your neighbors will enjoy their treats.
I love your bells! The year The Polar Express came out we watched it and then I got bells for in the kids' Christmas stockings. You should have seen their faces on Christmas morning! :0)
All your gifts will be wonderful, so don't fret! My children's stockings are cross-stitched too.
Oh, Darlene! So much eye candy in one post!
Everything looks so yummy...perfect for gift giving! I'm sure everyone will love it all.!!!
Wow, you have been a busy, busy Elf!!! Those goodies all look delic!!!!!! Your stockings are totally AMAZING!!!!!....but of course you know I am one of your biggest fans!!!!!
Those bells are so pretty! And the treats certainly look delicious indeed. Your friends and neighbors are lucky!
Cross-stitch was my first love and I still enjoy it so much. I'm glad you have your needle and embroidery thread in your hand often still :) I agree that quilting steals the show more often than not over other types of craft at my house too!
Um....recipes please.
Your neighbors will love those and more importantly your thoughtfulness!
Darlene i love these ideas of yours and dont stress friends will love the time and thought you put into them, gorgeous stockings too.xx
Love the bells. Could you share the pin? It would be a cute idea for my ceramics holiday party.
Looks like a wonderful holiday ahead - everything is clever and/or delicious looking - happy holidays.
I'm like you and used to cross-stitch before patchwork took over! Those stockings are gorgeous.
Oh you little elf - what wonderful treats for your friends and neighbors! I can't do close work anymore either Darlene, I never did cross-stitch but I know I'll never get the chance now, I can't see well enough. Stop stressing, you've made plenty of magic already!
Your cross-stitched stocking are incredible Darlene! What treasures! I'm sure anyone who is a friend of yours is as kind and generous and will LOVE whatever you give them. No time for stress.
Well look, if "they" don't like it, why not move here and be my neighbour? I'd like all of the things you showed.
I got a bit hungry looking at your yummy treats! Love the bell ornaments... lucky neighbors! Counted Cross Stitch was my first love years ago, and I still stitch when I can. I miss not being able to do more! I stitched two of the Shepherds Bush Christmas stockings within the past ten years... I must remember to take pictures of them next time I visit my two oldest grandchildren, who became the recepients.
Oh my where do I start, the treats looks so good (I wish you were my neighbour). I did x-stitch as well for about 15 years before quilting took over. Don't worry all well be fine.
Too funny, Darlene, I was an avid cross stitcher as well. I cross stitched on linen ALOT !!! SO many of our ornaments are cross stitched.
Bells for ding-a-lings.....(just had to say that as I'm giggling to myself)..LOL
Oh how I remember all that cross stitch I did...can't see anymore. Love your stockings. Those bells are so darn cute...and I've drooled all over my keyboard...YUMMY treats! Lucky neighbors!
Silly, silly girl. Of course they'll love it - I know I will. Hint hint. ;)
But we're going to have to talk about those Rolo treats... how come I've never heard of those? Do they fall into the category of "knowledge you wish you didn't have"? I'm guessing "yes".
Yes, I remember your cross stitch days well. I believe I bought some of your stash when you switched to quilting lol. And now here I am a quilter too and barely a stitcher anymore. Guess I better get my SB stockings done before my eyes betray my like so many before me. I have the fabric, the patterns, and the thread. Just need to get started. Yours are beautiful! Thanks for sharing and the treats look yummy!
Good ideas. I always am looking for things to do and give.
Your post is so inspiring!!! Thanks for sharing.
Yummmmm!
My mouth is watering ober the treats!!
:) Carolyn
Oh Darlene, I love your socks designed my the Shepherd's Bush! I live about 5 miles from their shop. It is incredible and I love to go there and just wander for an hour or more. Of course I rarely leave empty handed. When Gail Pan and her friend Sandra were here from Australia, when Quilt Market was in Salt Lake City. I took them to the Shepherds Bush and we had a blast. Gail especially enjoyed it. She was so excited when I told her we could go there in minutes. They are a wonderful group of ladies, and of course everyone of them overflows with talent for beautiful designs. Big Hugs, Have a most Blessed Christmas...
