First Class, Air Mail or Priority Mail Postage Stamps

None of the above ... thank you!
:-)

The only postage stamps I need are all in my
finished
postage stamp quilt.
Can I get a
WooHoo????

I started this quilt with a certain size in mind.
After I laid it on our bed I decided it had to be bigger.

I managed to put a huge dent in the container filled with 2" print squares.
I used all of the 2" white squares, as well.

Every line of fabric Bonnie & Camille have designed for Moda is represented in this quilt:
Cotton Blossoms, Simple Abundance, Bliss, Ruby, Vintage Modern, Marmalade, Happy Go Lucky and Scrumptious.

Here it is in all it's glory; big enough for our king size bed.
 :-)

The stats in case you want to make one, too.

84" x 90" finished
1680 - 2" print squares
1680 - 2" white squares
Total - 3360 - 2" squares

When I decided in May that I wanted to make this quilt I was chatting with
 Carol (Brown Quilts 4 Me).
We decided it would be more efficient for me to make 16 patches.
It was much easier to keep my 2" squares straight (we feared individual rows might bow)

14 - 16 patches per row
15 rows

This quilt was so much fun to make.
I hope you'll make one, too.
Start cutting your 2" squares.
:-)

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me.
I've had a couple of very pieceful days - I hope you have, as well.

In Friendship!

I was thinking that sounds fun till I got down to see just how many squares were in there! Argh! But a sixteen patch I could cope with - one at a time!

Love that postage stamp quilt! It's on my list ... and what a wonderful idea to put it together as 16 patches! I wonder, too, if it might not seem so overwhelming when you break it down into 16 patches.

Oh my gosh - you were just talking and planning in MAY?!? of this year? Holy cow. It is awesome. I would actually like to make one someday. Thanks for the tip on the 16 patches!

It's awesome!

"Certain size in mind"? Whose mind? The one you lost? What amazes - and impresses - me most is that you actually cut all those 2" x 2" squares. Did you count them all while you were cutting? Or did you just cut bunches and bunches and hope you had enough? :)

I look at your postage stamp quilt and I immediately hear the Beatles singing, "wait a minute, wait a minute, Mr. Postman..." WAIT A MINUTE INDEED! This quilt is spectacular! How clever to use the many fabrics of the same designers, and sewing together 16 patches makes more sense than sewing rows. It definitely is first class, Darlene!!!

Ooh I love it! I've got a little collection of 2" squares I'm saving for my own postage stamp quilt. As of today, there's only enough for a doll quilt :-) maybe someday I'll have enough for a bed sized quilt!

I commented over the weekend and looks like it didn't stick. I LOVE this Darlene! It is gorgeous!!! I like the idea of the 16 patch. I'm thinking I will start a scrappy quilt with my 2.5" squares as a leader/ender type of project. No rush. Just get the scraps down. I'm using them in a Granny Square quilt too. I need to pull that project out again.

I just love postage stamp quilts! And you picked my favorite designers! Now, maybe you have to wait for the backing until you can get yardage of their new line ''April Showers'' they announced today :)
