"A joyful spirit is evidence of a grateful heart" - Maya Angelou

My spirit is full of joy and my heart is definitely grateful because I have received so many wonderful comments, compliments, suggestions, etc to my quilting slump and "insult". I appreciate your encouraging and kind words - thank you my friends! I hope to return to my regular scheduled quilting soon but for now I truly have no interest or desire. I have to admit that Judy's Hour A Day project has me very intrigued. When I saw Jeanne's quilt I fell in love with it so it might be "the" project that jump starts my desire to quilt. We'll see!

In the meantime I will be visiting blogs and living vicariously through all of you. :-)

you will soon be back on quilting again. I think almost everyone have been in that situation this autumn. Wonder why. Times just rush away and I want it to slow down.

Hang in there -- just the right thing will be coming around the corner. It's a busy time of year beginning right now, so don't add to the pressure. But don't stop working on those hexagons *s*

At least visiting blogs is cheaper than buying fabric! :)

I just went back to see what the insult was...I'm SHOCKED! There are so many things quilters can do..we do NOT need to put each other down! I have a much better quilt 'eye' than I did when I first started (EONS ago..don't ask!) I learn something about color every time I pick fabric. Sounds like the GIVER of the insult is unsure of herself. Quilt on! PS I'll meet you at Quiltz and help you pick fab as I'm on No-buy! ::::Grin:::::

It's all supposed to be about doing something we love, isn't it? If what you are enjoying at the moment is reading blogs, well read blogs I say. Nobody can tell us what we can and can't do! I think 'those people' should mind their own business! They are probably feeling insecure about 'their' quilting style to make such comments. No need for you to apologise for doing what makes you happy.

Living vicariously is permitted. You'll get your mojo back one of these days.

Darlene, in getting caught up with some of my favorite bloggers (you would be one of them!!), I just read your 'slump' post. Oh girlie...how my heart sunk. I know what you're feeling. Been there and lived that. Sometimes folks can make comments about something and they have no idea just how far that reaches out and really *hurts* others. I'm so sorry that this seems to have been the case for you. I, too, have questioned my 'style'...as early as a year ago. I muddled through it...it's my stubborn streak that made me. ;o) Anyways...I found that *I* was responsible for a big portion of that. *I* was letting myself be told what was *acceptable* and what wasn't. Ya know what...*I* am the one putting the time, money and energy in what I make...so I think that *I* should be able to make the decision on what *I* make! :oP AND, furthermore, if someone ELSE doesn't think that it is "creative" enough... TOUGH BEANS!! :o) Those very same critics are so busy making their 'original' work..something that I have absolutely NO DESIRE to mimic or even buy (if it were for sale).

The bottom line is... YOU MAKE WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY No matter if it's a quilt from a kit, a published pattern or something from one of your own doddles. As for the critics...tell 'em to stick a fat quarter in their trap and move on. :oP
