One More Bunny & Piecing

Another bunny block has been completed – three to go! I’ve really enjoyed this project.

I’ve been wanting to make a pink and brown quilt for ages. I have a fat quarter bundle called In The Pink by The Buggy Barn and today I got inspired to start piecing a new project. I knew I was going to need a background fabric for my snowball blocks and thought I’d have to run to the quilt store. And, then I had a light bulb moment – I remembered that I had a great Marsha McCloskey background print from her “Staples” line. It’s over three yards of an off-white with a tan/mocha star (actually it’s a tiny asterisk) that will be great for my pink and brown project. I made a small stack of snowball blocks this evening as a start. I’m loving the way the “staples” print is working in that snowball block. I'm especially glad to know that it'll be out of the drawer! It's been living there for a few years!
Bear in mind that I have a huge tote full of assorted pink and brown prints so there’s another pink and brown quilt in my future.

your bunny blocks are so cute Darlene. Who will you be making the quilt for?

When i read you were making a Pink and Brown quilt, i thought to myself "Oh no Darlene is also making a quilt in those colors" LOL. I had read another blog today where the blogger was in the process of making a quilt with the same colors. I would love to make one but i am trying to work on my UFOs this year and not be tempted (hopefully) to begin another quilt unless it's for an occasion like a birth, etc. So i will be eager to watch your progress with this quilt.

I love that McCloskey print...I bought a bunch of it and wish I'd gotten it in more colors. It's worked in a lot of projects for me.
The bunny block is charming.

You are going to pull me into the pink and brown path yet *s* I love the background fabric you chose. I think I used to have a small piece that lived here, but has long moved into a quilt. The bunnies are adorable -- as every.

Those bunnies are adorable! Didn't know that they stand up on their back legs like that but I have a cat that does it really well, LOL. (Tonight my leg was getting quite a workout since we were having a chicken dish.)

I'll have to see what you are doing with the snowballs and crosses!

I lOVE your bunnies! We have two sweet bunny pets, named Chip and Dale (even though they are girls, hmmm...) They live outside all year long, even though we live in the cold part of Norway, and they are the healthiest rabbits I've seen. They have a large fenced in area, and love to play and often stand on their back legs to have a look around. I'll be back to see your bunnies later.
