My Lazy Summer Daze

I didn't accomplish much during my vacation week. I did manage to take some short and long naps; finished a book; traced some applique; assembled some of my Quilter's Journey pieces parts into whole blocks; lots of laundry (how do two people go through so many articles of clothing?); played a few games on the computer; lots of time on the computer however I haven't been very good about leaving comments or responding to e-mails (please forgive my laziness). I have been reading your blogs and enjoying your inspiration. :-)

Guess what? My boss has decided that I can have another vacation week - WooHoo! There is a small caveat but I'm willing to do just about anything to have a few more days to play. I have to work tomorrow and then my time is mine till next week. So my 'Lazy Summer Daze' will continue for a bit longer. I'm not sure what I will accomplish this week but I'm hoping it will be more than last week. I'm going to take a look at the numerous projects I have started and hopefully finish one or two. Assemble more Quilter's Journey blocks (I'm really enjoying the embroidery) and look at prepping lots more hand applique projects. BUT, no pressure and/or stress is allowed! It's all about me for another week. LOL

I must RANT - please bear with me!!!!!!! You are all well aware that I live on the Surface of Sun - it's been sizzling hot here. Imagine stepping into a HOT oven and attempting to breath and walk - UGH!!!! It's really not good to be a menopausal woman living on the Surface of Sun. OMG, I had some rough nights last week - yes we have the A/C cranked down and the ceiling fan full blast and small fan blowing directly on me. I'm still HOT!!!!!

That block looks really COOL!!

Have been hearing about the awful heat out your way. I thoroughly understand about your rant. I too experience "personal power surges"...but at least it isn't as hot here...just in the 90's.

A little R&R therapy is a good thing! ;c) Yay for vacations.

I love your Quilter's Journey block. It's absolutely gorgeous! I've been tempted with Leanne's "Leanne's House BOM" myself. I think I've found a US source for her patterns....will let you know if true.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I've been watching your weather - yikes....DD#2 and I are road tripping to your particular surface of the sun on Friday.... gonna catch a couple Dbacks/Pads games. Can you recommend any LQS we might stop at on the way to the hotel? :c) TIA

I recently told Keith that he picked a great time of our lives to move us to the frozen North - I had surgery a couple years ago that brought my menopause 10-12 years early. I was visiting down south in June and I feel your misery!

Gosh your quilt is lovely! I'm caving in .......... no, no please.... I have so much else to do! Hey, how about a dip in the pool? It's bloody hot here today in Upstate NY. Thank goodness for a/c and a pool. You, menopausal... naw, I don't believe it! You're as young as I am......! Enjoy your other week of vacation. BTW, those rectangular blow up pool are great for just floating around in an inner tube. Worked for me before we got the big pool. Okay so I had a three year old! But, go ahead, get in touch with your inner child! LOL Stay Kool my friend!

I didn't do much on my 2 days off either. :-\
If you want some cool air you should come to Maine. It was 59 degrees and pouring rain today. Most of last week I have had to put a sweater on after dark in the house.

Beautiful block! Love your colours.
How are you doing with the stitching? I am starting my first block and wondering if you decided to go with stitching first and then piecing - or do you like making the large block and then stitching? Any other words of wisdom?!?
