Pieces Parts
I've been working on pieces parts of blocks 4 and 6 of my Quilter's Journey by Leanne Beasley. (sorry they aren't pressed but I couldn't wait to show you). The instructions tell you to do the embroidery after you've assembled the entire block. I did block #5 that way and wasn't thrilled so I decided to try it 'my way'. Well, I'm not too crazy about 'my way' either - guess I've reached an impasse. LOL It doesn't matter - I'm having fun with this project but I've made a HUGE mess in my sewing room - digging through scraps and fat quarters. Oh well. :-)
I'm still on vacation and I might have my boss convinced to let me have next week off, too. Actually, I think if I work one day she'll be very agreeable. Keep your fingers crossed for me. :-)
By the way - it was 115 degrees here today - guess where I was? Yep, inside with the A/C.

I Love,Love,Love those blocks. I'm going to have to place an order to the shop in Australia. What other patterns are wonderful and I'll order them all at once. Another package in the mail...YIPPEE!
Try to stay cool! Take off as much time as you want...tell your boss I said it was OK :)

Pretty, pretty! It was hot here, too, although not quite that hot! A good day to stay inside and stitch! Your block is great. It's going to be an awesome quilt!

I've been thinking about you all week as I've watched the Weather Channel and saw your temps going up and up and up!!! :/ Oh my goodness, I am soooo glad you have that A/C in good working order. :) Those blocks are adorable...what's not to be happy about with them? They look wonderful!! Just tell your boss that you've contracted 'quilt pox' and will be quarantined in the isolation ward for the next week!!! ROFL

Darlene, your blocks are lovely. I really love that pattern and have been contemplating ordering it. I am trying to hold off until her next one comes out...butterflies and blooms I think. The heat sounds awful. With cold you can layer and get warm but you can only take off so much to stay cool! Keep that A/C running!!

Oh, I love those blocks! I am going to have to get that pattern. Too cute! Keep cool, I can't believe how hot it is out there. We are having a wierd summer too with way too much rain (and flooding). Too bad you can't call in sick, LOL!

You've gotten bunches of fun mail lately Darlene. I'm going to have to have my interceptor sit by your mailbox! I like how you decorated your entryway - very patriotic. I admire people who decorate their homes for the season. My house looks the same as it did when I moved in. Your stitchery blocks look lovely. They are going to make a great quilt!

Beautiful blocks. What is your preferred applique method? Everyone I ask is raving about the "starch method", and I just bought a teensy little craft iron to see if I can be successful at it.

Love those tiny pairs of embroidered scissors. You are right to do things your own way, enjoying it is what matters:)

Your blocks in the making looks very good Darlene. Can I come and sew with you? I am not sure which Leanne's House block to pick next. I do have fresh coffee if you want some :-)
