Still Grumpy! :-(
(my 2nd post today)

I've continued to be grumpy today! AARRGGHHH I'm not happy with the results of my time spent on my vacation and now we can add that I must be hormonal because I've shed a tear or two today. I've been experiencing overwhelming sadness today. Sigh!

My wonderful Sweetie has been very understanding today - walking a wide path around me. He suggested that I go some place - it's too HOT. Thank you, Honey! He's now gone to a meeting and I'm sure he's really happy to be away from me.

So I found something to occupy my mind for a bit.

A couple of weeks ago I did an on-line search for mini whole cloth quilt kits - thought it would be 'the' perfect thing to begin my hand quilting journey. I found Christian Lane Quilters and ordered the Sunflower mini quilt. Actually, I think that Libby may have posted a link to that site in the past. By the way, their service is really fast. I pulled out a large piece of muslin and some thin cotton batting and basted my mini whole cloth quilt - note that it's very well basted - that puppy is not shifting! When I was out and about one day last week I picked up thread, needles, a thimble and a 14" hoop. I didn't spend a fortune so if this project is abandoned I won't feel guilty.
It's ready to go but I'm not sure I am. Wish me luck, please!
Thank you, thank you for all your sweet comments today - it's not been easy to be my friend today. If I've snapped at you please accept my apology - I'm not usually so rude!
In Friendship!

Oh you sweetheart! We all have those days. We have thicker skins than you'd think, unless we are having a day like you are. ;) I pray you have a peaceful evening and the hand quilting bug bites you hard!

Enjoy your hand quilting . . . I think it's one of the most stress relieving and relaxing things. Just don't sweat your stitches - they are most likely going to be big. Who cares? Also, don't try to get a whole long line of stitches on your needle at once - it takes practice, practice, practice and nothing lets you do it on the curves. Have fun and make a deal with yourself that you can only think happy thoughts *s* That's what I have done and I NEVER have a bad day hand quilting.

I love Christian Lane Quilters. They are nice and their service is fast.

Sometimes we can't control the grumpies. The trick is to not let them totally ruin your day.

Good luck with the hand quilting. I purchased the mini whole cloth tulips and quilted those last summer. Those projects are a great way to practice hand quilting.

(((HUGS))) - we know those hormonal things aren't fun - take a deep breath, take a bubble bath, relax and then get started on that hand quilting.

More (((HUGS)))

Oh Darlene, have a glass of wine, or two or three, that might help. I personally can't stand wine but I hear it's good for just about anything....lol...Hope your hand quilting goes well. Please let us know the progress on it. I'll be waiting trying to decide whether or not to jump on the same boat.

Darlene,
There must be something in the air. A couple of the bloggy gals have said that they too are sad. Well cheer up!!!! What else could make you happier than having all these bloggy friends to chat with each and everyday. Hang in there and feel better soon.

I'd leave a comment, but you've scared me now! LOL! Just kidding! It will pass--believe me. Maybe you just needed some down time. Knock that Jimminy Cricket conscience off your shoulder--the one with the list--and do what you feel like doing instead.

That looks like fun! I can't wait to see how you like it!

I know that grumpy, hormonal, sad feeling and it gets even worse when you are making list of things to do when you should enjoy your time off. You end up being disappointed even more when you didn’t do the do-to-things. I‘ve been there! Let’s make fun (or eat some chocolate..)!

I meant to-do-things.. You see, that’s what hormones do to me! They change the alphabetical order!

Darlene, it's Hot in your world, no wonder you're grumpy! BTW, Hand quilting is a winter sport! Oh wait, you live on the surface of the sun! You guys have winter? Hey I have an idea, just put the a/c thermostat at 60 degrees, that should help with your mood! lol Have fun hand quilting! Remember, it's not about the lenght of the stitch but consistency.

Hey Ms. GruMpy!!

I had to laugh when I saw your post! I ran across Christian Lane Quilters at a local show a couple of years ago and bought two of the whole cloth quilts. Started it a couple of years ago with a varigated thread and have finally reached the border!! Now I am inspired to finish it and show it to you!! Enjoy! they are fun to stitch

Oh, I do get annoyed when my precious vacation time does not go as planned.

Is it possible you had too many things on your list?
