Things have been quiet on the quilting front here. Yesterday I spent the majority of the day cleaning my sewing room - it was beyond messy - completely out of control. It's a pleasant environment now. :-)
This morning I made a quick run to the nearest quilt store just for giggles and grins and it was a rather boring visit. Maybe I just wasn't really in the mood to be there. Oh well.
Since it's been quiet and I don't have much new to share I thought I'd show two old string quilts that I made several years ago. One quilted and one still a 'flimsy'.
Thanks for visiting!!! TTFN

These are really pretty. I love the ice cream colors of the bottom one.
I can see that I'm going to have to make a string quilt . . . I've fought the urge, but now it's just too strong.
I love string quilts. I made Frankie a quilt out of those same flannels as the colorful quilt, I love how it all looks stringed together!
Oh, the brown strings are really interesting! Not the usual string color assortment. Going onto my Idea List!
Jeanne :)
It's funny how different these can look. I love both of them but then I'm addicted to strings right now.
What Libby said. I've been resisting too, but both of yours look so darn pretty! I need more time . . .
I love the colors used in your strings. I have never sorted my strings enough to do this - mine are always on the bright side. I like the effects of the light colors. Thanks for showing us the strings.......
I had forgotten how much I like string quilts. It is such a great way to use up fabrics too!
It's always a wonderful feeling for me to have a clutter-free environment for sewing. Enjoy your tidy work space!
I've never done a string quilt. Yours make me think about it more, they are both great, I don't know which I like more....I don't think I can decide.
Great quilts. You have been having some great things happening to you lately. Congratulations on your clean sewing space, the extra vacation days and all the lovely things you have won.
I really like both of them....enjoy your clean sewing room. I need to clear mine out.
Well very cool! I"ve got to get catching up on my string blocks. My bag is getting full again!
I love seeing the different color combinations used in making string quilts. They are both great quilts.
I am so use to seeing mixed colors strings; I really like the brown one, a little different than what you normally see.
Love the brown one, especially in the enlarged photo. Congratulations on cleaning your sewing room, what a great feeling that is. Right now I need to vacuum mine so so badly and can't make myself stop to do it.
I'm making strings too. Love the colors you've used. Mine look pretty bad after seeing yours!
You will get alot of things done now that your sewing room is in order. I cleaned and organized mine last month and I can now "find" things. LOL
What very different styles of strings! Very pretty. Since I am a 30's fabric nut I suppose I would be more drawn to the brighter ones but the neutrals are terrific too.
Oh, yes, the cream one is my favorite too!
Gosh you have been busy posting! I can't believe everything I've missed! But I LOVE these string quilts you've been making! Oh heck, I love everything you work on!
