Reasons to Smile!

#1 - I spent time prepping wedges, making background and center fabric decisions and smiling when I laid out this first block. When I was sitting with my needle and thread stitching away I started snickering because I suddenly realized that I was truly smiling as I was working. :-)

#2 - Made a huge decision in my real life quilting world about my group particiation that I'm very at peace/piece with. I was a little sad that I didn't get any feedback and kind words in return. That's OK because it really was the right decision for me as I had been seeing the group through rose colored glasses. :-)

#3 - Realizing how much I've missed doing handwork and making decisions to get back to it in a very serious way.
:-)

Enjoy your Saturday - thanks for stopping by - come again and often.

In Friendship!

You have been a very busy girl while I was on vacation.
I see you have sent out some really cute dolls with wire hair. They are adorable.
Guess I missed something along the way about your group participation decision.

Your block is so fun Darlene. I'm sorry you didn't get the kind words that you were wanting to hear, sometimes that's all the answer we need to hear to know we've made the right decission. so glad your getting back into the grove of things my friend.

Hi Darlene, I love your block, particularly your fabric choices. They are great together. It sounds like their lack of words is a confirmation that you made the right decision about your group! Blessings, marlene

I took a close up look at your block and it looked like you were needle turning those pieces? What technique are you using? A very nice block and I can see why it made you smile. I too love handwork!

We all have to make decisions that are best for us in life. I totally agree. I think that is why I don't believe I'll be completing my Dear Jane, at least not now. I just don't have the time and the angst that theose blocks cost me isn't worth it. Thanks for your words, they help me feel better about making my own choices. Love that block too. Just my taste! I'm so glad I am among fellow quilters that make me feel like I belong, like you do.

Cute block, Darlene. Can you tell me about it? Did you put this together using a leaf template, or is is a pattern?

Hey Darlene! long time no "see"! You sure have some great things here on your blog! I love the applique block! Is it a pattern or what? I don't do much applique, but I think I'd like to try that one. Would you rate it easy enough?
Thanks.
