Reasons to Smile!
#1 - I spent time prepping wedges, making background and center fabric decisions and smiling when I laid out this first block. When I was sitting with my needle and thread stitching away I started snickering because I suddenly realized that I was truly smiling as I was working. :-)
#2 - Made a huge decision in my real life quilting world about my group particiation that I'm very at peace/piece with. I was a little sad that I didn't get any feedback and kind words in return. That's OK because it really was the right decision for me as I had been seeing the group through rose colored glasses. :-)
#3 - Realizing how much I've missed doing handwork and making decisions to get back to it in a very serious way.
:-)
Enjoy your Saturday - thanks for stopping by - come again and often.
In Friendship!

That block would make anyone smile! Very cute!
You have been a very busy girl while I was on vacation.
I see you have sent out some really cute dolls with wire hair. They are adorable.
Guess I missed something along the way about your group participation decision.
I know exactly what you are saying. :-)
Your block is so fun Darlene. I'm sorry you didn't get the kind words that you were wanting to hear, sometimes that's all the answer we need to hear to know we've made the right decission. so glad your getting back into the grove of things my friend.
What a lovely block. It made me smile when I saw it aswell.
Love and hugs Gina xx
That's too cute! And what fun hand work. I have to agree with Linda - sometimes the silence speaks volumnes.

Love it, great colour choices.

Hi Darlene, I love your block, particularly your fabric choices. They are great together. It sounds like their lack of words is a confirmation that you made the right decision about your group! Blessings, marlene
Your new block made me smile as well. I think I missed something about the group participation decision.
Yep, I agree...that block would put a smile on anyones face. Sorry about the no response thing, but so glad you are at peace/piece with your decision.
I love that block. I'm happy for you....
That's the cutest little pinwheel flower, I love it! It makes me smile too.
What a wonderful block! Can't wait to see more of them! Those kind of decisions aren't always easy, but it feels good when the decision is finally made! (Hugs)
I took a close up look at your block and it looked like you were needle turning those pieces? What technique are you using? A very nice block and I can see why it made you smile. I too love handwork!
That is a darling block.
That's so pretty - just looking at your photo makes ME smile :)
I love the block! It has everyone smiling. Sometimes we don't get what we are looking for and it's time to move on. I'm glad you're happy with your decision.
I do LOVE your block! Are you making Petal Play? One of my fave quilts!
I'm happy you are happy, Darlene and what a beautiful block!
Hugs - Lurline.
PS - hope to "pincushion" tomorrow.
Your new block brought a smile to my face! Such a cheeful block! What's you got in mind for it? Is that for me???? teehehehe!
We all have to make decisions that are best for us in life. I totally agree. I think that is why I don't believe I'll be completing my Dear Jane, at least not now. I just don't have the time and the angst that theose blocks cost me isn't worth it. Thanks for your words, they help me feel better about making my own choices. Love that block too. Just my taste! I'm so glad I am among fellow quilters that make me feel like I belong, like you do.
Cute block, Darlene. Can you tell me about it? Did you put this together using a leaf template, or is is a pattern?
I love your block! The colors are wonderful. I also enjoy hand work. . . keep it up!
Sherry

If you're at peace with your decision that's what really matters :)
Hey Darlene! long time no "see"! You sure have some great things here on your blog! I love the applique block! Is it a pattern or what? I don't do much applique, but I think I'd like to try that one. Would you rate it easy enough?
Thanks.
That is one adorable block Darlene. I missed something in that decision thing but as long as it was a good one for you I'm happy for you.
Love the wedge - it's adorable! Can't wait to see the rest of them. I'm glad you are finding reasons to smile! Good for you!
