Opinions, Please!
I need your opinion(s), please!
I started these mini baskets sometime last Summer/Fall after Karen was kind enough to share her basket template with me. I have no specific plans in mind - just know that I want every basket to be a different fabric (no repeats). When Kathie read that, she offered to share fabric with me and sent a ton. Thank you so much, Ladies!
Anyway, I need your opinion(s) because I've come to a screeching halt and now I want to get busy again. The 10 blocks on the left are sewn down with a straight setting in mind; the baskets/blocks on the right are just prepped with an on-point setting in mind - which setting would you do?
I think I've answered my own question but I want to know want you think. Please!
Thanks bunches! I'll be waiting to hear from you!
In Friendship!

On point!
I like the on point setting.
On point definitely! They are really cute blocks. Are they hand or machine appliqued?
Cathy
On point is the winner of my vote too. So cute!
I vote for on point!
I vote for on point, too. It's going to be a dynamite quilt!
I sure hope that the answer you thought it was is "on point"
On Point.......Those are tiny little baskets.so cute....Amy
on point.....
I always like on point better. :)
wow i would be going against the grain if i said the 1st one!!!
:D
for the record, i like them BOTH way, and i think BOTH would make a beautiful quilt.
but i can see the on point being more of a statement.
so go with on point.
:D
Definitely on point.
On Point.
To me, on point always seems more lively and active.
I agree, on point.
On point is the way to go *s*
I vote for on point! How cute.
Good Morning, my vote is on point. The composition is just more pleasing. Those baskets are so cute!
On point! It just adds some character to it.
Definitely on point. But since you have already sewn some down for a straight setting, what about using the straight setting for a border around the outside. You could alternate the straight setting blocks with a solid square of the same size so you don't have to make a lot more. Then add another solid border after that. Can't wait to see it finished.
Baskets always seem to be done on point...it has very nice eye appeal.
on point for sure - more interest - looks great can't wait to see it all finished!!
I really like the ones on point. I don't really like putting those quilts together but this is really cute with baskets on point.
Ditto!!! Cute little plump baskets! 8-))))
However, the cute little spring blocks are even MORE WONDERFUL!
I definitely love the on-point setting~!
I think the baskets are set off better "on-point!"
I always prefer on point and it looks like everyone else does too!
Well, I guess it's pretty universal--baskets should be on point! So cute. Love ALL the quilts on this page, but seriously thinking I need to make one of those furrowed four patches. Love it!!
I like the on point baskets better. I may be biased seeing as I am just figuring out how to do my first quilt on point. ;)
I think they look better on point.
on point and the border can be straight :)
I prefer the on-point setting. Maybe you can use the straight-set blocks you already completed in something else.
On Point. I did have a question is the background fabric different too? or just the basket fabric?
Kim
Definetly on point...with the other setting you will need to do something more... Good luck!!
Looks like everyone like the on point ones...me too!
No question about it - on point!
My vote is for on point.
My first love of baskets is always on point but how cute would staggered straight sets be? Different at least.
OMG they are sooooooo cute...On Point...hands down.
Definitely the on point setting, the baskets stand out more
Definitely on-point.
This is going to be a cute quilt.
Definitely on point!
Aren't they cute, I vote the same as everyone else. You could always do something interesting with the setting triangles and border.
On point!
I vote for on-point. Those are some adorable baskets, how big do you think the quilt will be?
I like the basket set on point. Really cute baskets!
I really like both ways, how about doing the center on point and then doing a solid inner border, then a border or the straight set baskets, then another solid border to frame that pieced border.
Definitely on point! But what about those lovelies that are done square?
I like the on point. More interesting I think.
On point, definitely!
Bari B.
darlene.. how about on point in the middle of your quilt and then for the boarders have a darker background and then you can have the other ones straight.. I think you would get the best of both worlds..I can picture these now they look so fabulous!!
I see you have plenty of answers already but the on point setting really shows off the baskets more! Lovely work, BTW! :0)
I vote "On Point"
So yesterday after seeing this post with the cute baskets I decided to design my own mini basket to applique on blocks. Partly because I don't have this pattern and because I want to try my hand at designing my own stuff. It took me a while but I finally came up with my own version.
Definitely on point!
Hi Darlene :D
I like them on point too!
hugs
Robyn xx
So cute!
The on-point setting is more traditional for a basket quilt. I would make mine on point. You have done a nice job on those very cute baskets. Thank you for sharing them with us. Take care and God bless, Cory
I am lovin' the on point, my friend!
I hope you chose the on point option. It is definitely the winner.
I prefer the on point, a lot.
How pretty! I think the uniqueness of each basket shows up better on point. Best wishes, Diane
My preference would be on point. They appear to add more visual interes that way. Great job!
Wow 62 comments already! I am always fond of the on point setting for baskets. It just seems to fit better.
I think I like the on-point setting.
I vote for on pointe also!
I vote for the on point setting, too.
On point for sure! I love them.
Cute little baskets! I would absolutly put them on point. How many are you going to do?
I love them on point Missy!!!
Hi Darlene. Has anyone yet suggested a centre of on point blocks with row of straight up and down blocks on the sides of the quilt. Then you could use all the blocks you have done. They look very cute!
If I had the energy I would read them all to see if anyone says anything but 'on point'
The only other way would be to add sashing etc.
I would definitely go for the on point setting!
