I spent time last week cutting a couple of projects so I could do some power sewing. Well, it's time to cut again.
What is this obsession I have with quilting???? I can't seem to stop. Sigh
I've completed 'the guts' of my second project and need to make some border decisions. When I was preparing to do the cutting for this project I needed the tools in the next picture. A Easy Windmill Template by Omnigrid and Come Quilt With Me and my Olfa Rotating Mat (if you don't have one of these, use your 40% Joann's coupon and grab one). I don't use it often but it sure is handy when I need it.
Stephanie calls these windmills, Whirligigs and I've watched her make several adorable Whirligig quilts. I searched for the required template and finally found one after visiting three Joann's Stores.
Here's my Whirligig quilt top using Oh Cherry Oh by Moda and Kona White. I seem to be having issues and challenges with background fabrics this year because I've used the last of my Kona White and now I need more for the inner borders. Huge Sigh! LOL Guess it's time to buy another bolt!
Last week my Sweetie was suffering with a bad cold and my grandson, Seth was suffering with tonsillitis. I offered to take it so they would feel better but I was only being polite .....guess what.....I'm suffering with a terrible head cold this week and feeling a bit puny. In a day or two when I feel better I'll make a dash to the quilt store to grab border fabrics for my recent completions (Dutch Treat and Whirligigs).
I'm ready to start searching for new projects but first I'll have to do some Celebrity Stunt Sewing for a local Quilt Diva. ;-)
I'm off to curl up with my book and hopefully take a little nap.
I hope you've enjoyed your visit - come again real soon!
In Friendship!

Another beauty, maybe a dumb question but you mentioned 3 items in your list, one which was come and quilt with me, what is that?

Feel better soon, Darlene! I'll be doing a whirlygig with Zippity Do-Dah by Sandy Gervais! Looks like a template is in my future!
Cheers!
Oh Cherry Oh is on my ever-growing "need to buy" list! I love that fabric. It's so cheery and retro looking.
Your whirlygig quilt is simply awesome, Darlene.
Hope your cold goes away quickly.
First, feel better! Second, I LOVE your whirlygig quilt. What happy colors. :o)
So cute! You're so fast with getting projects done. I think I'm also addicted to quilting, just can't help it. Get better soon.
I'm NOT GOING TO SAY IT!!!! But....you know what I am thinking!
Your Celebrity Stunt Sewing sounds fun. Hope you feel better soon.
Darlene, the whirlygig is so cute. I keep looking at Oh Cherry Oh every time I'm in my LQS.
I sure hope you get better soon.
What a very cute quilt. Guess what...I made a few of those blocks a couple weeks ago and ran out of background fabric (poor planning) well the blocks have been sitting ever since. You might have given me the inspiration to start up again.
I hope you feel better real soon, take it easy and don't over do it.
Your whirlygiggle is great in those fabrics!!!
Your Whirlygig quilt is turning out wonderful! We are all hooked on quilting.. join the club. :-)
Hope you feel better soon.
Whirlygig is fun and sweet as can be! I can think of worse addictions, but sometimes I fret over my own accumulation of all things quilty and wonder at my sanity or the lack of it, lol. But then I see a quilter working on a fun Whirlygig and it all becomes normal again. Feel better soon.

Obsessed with quilting? I don't see a problem.....
Love the latest quilt too.
Your quilts makes me happy!!! They put a smile on my face... thanks for making my day special..:o)
You are not alone! I prefer to say I am "passionate" about quilting and sewing!! I can't get enough of it whatever you call it!
Love your quilts!
I am jealous of the fact that you can whip out quilts so fast! I agonize for months over what to do next, because I know I'll be working on it for a long time (some of that may be due to being in college full time, but whatever :P).
I found your blog from a list of quilting blogs. Hope you don't mind a stranger reading!
Hope you feel better soon!
LOVE the Whirligigs!
I love the quilt. I love the Cherry O Cherry fabrics, too.
I hope you're feeling better soon. I avoid doctors offices with the kids and grandkids as much as I can because I always get sick.
Love it!! Your whiligigs are blowing me away! I hope you are feeling mucho better now. Celebrity stunt sewing??? Do tell!
Hey there,
Oh I have been so busy I have not had a chance to visit hardly any blogs. So sorry you have been feeling bad. I by the time you read this you are 100% better. Another lovely quilt. I have some of that fabric too.
I wish I had a good excuse to buy fabric by the bolt! I love your whirligig quilt.
The quilt is adorable! I hope you're feeling better soon.
Your Whirlygig quilt turned out just beautiful! They are such fun quilts to make. It's neat to see how the different fabric lines make them all look so different.
