Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow
is only a day away!

June 11, 2006 I made the leap into the Land of Blog and set up my Quilting Daze blog. It's been 4 years; hard to believe. Sigh!

I've been thinking, thinking and thinking some more about how to celebrate this fete. I looked back through my blog to see what I've done in the past.....

1st blogiversary: I had you guess how many quilts I had stored in my big red quilt cabinet. (prize was a beautiful hat box full of notions & such)
2nd blogiversary: I had you guess how many yo-yos were in the jar - Thimbles was hidden in the yo-yos! (prize was a sweet quilt embellished with yo-yos)
3rd blogiversary: I had you guess the contents of a sweet lunch box tin. (prize was the lunch box and contents)
*
So how should we celebrate this year? I'm looking for ideas and suggestions - what would you like to do to help me celebrate. Any prize ideas??? Here's your chance for you to tell me what you want!!!
*
By the way this is post #600 - I've either had too much to say or not enough to say. LOL
*
I'll be waiting to hear from you..........................until then I remain................
*
In Friendship!

Maybe 4 patterns you have made and dont plan to make again. Or 4 handmade objects like your little snippet bucket and 3 other things. Or nothing. You give so freely of yourself already.

Well look at who's having a blogiversary! Congratulations!!! I want to say, you have been creative in the past years with your giveaways. It must get harder and harder to top the last one. LOL! No ideas as to what to do but I'm sure it will be a treat! Good Luck and thanks for sharing your journey with us!!

Congrats on 4 years and 900 posts...

No suggestions on the contest. I usually do surprise ones on my blog and pick from a list of commentors from a previous post...

I've been a lurker for less than a year but I've enjoyed your embroidery and Schnibbles and...well everything. Congratulations on 4 years @ an average rate of 12.5 posts per month! How about showing a stack of fabric or bag (clear) of scraps and taking guesses on the actual weight of the said stack or bag?

Wow! Okay...I'm pretty sure there will be a guessing game, and it will probably be fun...let's see...how about guessing how many UFO's you counted in your big clean up?!? Or how many quilt tops you have made since you started blogging? Can't wait to play!

Congrats on 600 posts! I like Swooze's idea about patterns, but I want all those Schnibbles patterns you have made!

I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your quilts and am very happy to have gotten to know you and that's all because of your blog, thanks. Hats off to you my friend for 4 years of a wonderful blog. Hmmm, hard to know how you can top those other 3 Blogiversary prizes. I know you'll come up with something totally awesome and I'll be checking back to be part of your celebration.

Congratulations! That's a lot of posts. I've enjoyed your blog so much -- you're always doing something interesting.

Regarding the prize, I think Kaaren had the right idea. I'd love to come over and hang out with you. I'm sure we'd get into a lot of trouble, but wouldn't we have fun?!

Congrats to making 4 years of blogging. It's gone by fast I bet. I can't think of a good guessing game but maybe giving away 4 of something, that way 4 people will be winners. Good luck.

Hi Darlene, what a wonderful time of friendship. 4 years and 600 posts full. I think you give so much already that your generosity to the quilting community is enough but whatever you decide would be gratefully received as I know you would not consider NOT doing your giveaway as thats the lovely type of people bloggers are.
hugs Deb

Congrats! I don't have any ideas but that is amazing you've been blogging so long!

Wow! 600 posts in four years, how fun, congratulations. As for what to do, I think that a guess as to how many quilts you have finished in the four years of quilting would be fun and interesting. As for a prize anything you lie will be enjoyed. Thanks for being in Blogland and many more anniversaries to come.

Congratulations!!! I don't have any great suggestions.....June 11 is just a very special day for me you see my 2nd daughter will be 21 :)
Anyways I really do enjoy your blog and just wanted to let you know......thank you for it :)

Congratulations on your milestones. I've enjoyed reading your blog for a while now.
The giveaway sounds like lots of fun, but it seems backwards to me - we who enjoy reading your blog should be giving YOU a gift. What would you like to have?

AnnieO said...

Wow, that's a lot of blogging. I didn't even know quilter's blogs existed until 18 months ago, so I missed a lot of your blogging :)

I can't imagine what you might have us guessing at for a prize. Maybe how many spools of thread you have?

Vivian said...

I like Kaaren's idea too -- or how about plane tickets for 3 or 4 and plan a fun group quilting weekend. That would be a great way to celebrate.
Many congrat's on the years and the # of posts. Just think about all the quilters whose lives you've touched with your posts. It's impressive.

Happy blogiversary!!

We could guess how many pins you used to baste your latest quilt.

Wow, 4 years and 600 posts..that's an amazing accomplishment and what a commitment!

Congratulations Darlene!!

I think a wonderful giveaway would be a tuffet with some of your handwork ......perhaps the winner could pick an initial or flower or something special to them, and you could whip it up!!

Whatever you decide on, I'm sure we will all be keeping our fingers crossed that we're the lucky winner.

Karen said...

Wow!! I've only been blogging a few months. So glad our paths have crossed. I'd love to have a whimsy you've made and maybe never will finish, or (wink) a bag of Wuthering Heights scraps. You are an inspiration to me and I do hope we meet in person someday (we'll let Kim come too LOL). Congratulations on a great blog!!!!

Got any wool to give away? LOL Okay, seriously, I like the gently used pattern giveaway idea. As for the contest, maybe guessing how many quilts you have in your possession at this time.

Congrats on 4 years! I've been a reader for a while and remember some of those contests....
You could always try a container of buttons to guess the amount and then give it away....nice cool colored buttons. Or a mini quilt for a prize...

Wow...and what truly amazes me is that you can remember all the prizes and games you have played throughout! I've enjoyed you for years now...even when I was just lurking and finally decided to "come out" and introduce myself. I'm glad you are still blogging today! Here's to many more post!! (tilt they glass!!)
