A Rough Week!
(life in perspective)
Seriously - it's been a very rough week. I'm not here to ask for your pity but I do have something to say.
My hubby, Ron (aka Mr Daze) continues to struggle with health challenges due to problems with his big heart. He's scheduled for a procedure next Wednesday and we hope that will help.
My mom had major surgery last Monday and spent five days in ICU. I faced the decision - where should I be - with my mom in Texas or with my husband here in Arizona. I chose to stay here in AZ but naturally suffered some guilt. My mom's surgery went well - three aneurysms were discovered and removed. Whew! Now the healing begins.
Earlier this week the blogging community received news that our dear friend, Kaaren of The Painted Quilt has been dealt a very serious health challenge. She's one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and it's a privilege to call her my friend. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please!
During all this turmoil and stress it was maliciously implied that I had done some wrongdoings! I'm not here to defend myself because my friends and I know the truth. Enough said!
I'd like to ask that we put life in perspective and think about who's been wronged......my husband who's very active lifestyle has been curbed, my mom who went into a serious surgery incredibly frightened and Kaaren who is facing a battle with her health. Think about it, my friends.
False accusations and bullying needs to stop immediately - life is just too short!
Thank you for indulging me!
In Friendship!

I don't know who's being ugly but I got your back my friend. I am here for you.
Dont let the unkind people get you down. You do not have to defend yourself. If your heart is kind and in the right place that is the important thing.
Very sorry you had to choose where to be. Glad to hear your mom is doing well. Hope your hubby will be ok too.
Best wishes to you and your family.
Are you making a block for Kaaren. It might lift your spirits.

Darlene, I know nothing about what's going on BUT if there's one thing I've learned over the years is that there are always going to be the bullies and the 'mean girls'...yeah they never grow up! Cut them from your life...you have your husband and mom and friends..REAL friends, friends who care and are there for you when you are going through rough weeks and times!! Seriously, since I retired I am able to surround myself with people who I like to be with and who like to be with me!! What a difference it has made in my life...nothing sucks your will more than negative bullies who try to run the show!!
So hang in there kiddo!! This week will be better! You're one of the ones that I love to hang with!! Keep smilin'!
Paulette
Hello!
We don't know each other yet, but reading your post I felt the need to come and tell you some words. There'll always be people to criticize us, to try to make us feel sad or bad. But don't hear them! Don't pay attention to them, they are not important, and who are they to judge you??
Life is too short! You have your family, your husband, your mother, you friends!
I don't know exactly what happened but be happy!
Best wishes to you and your family.
(and sorry my poor English)
I don't know what's been going on for you, but I just wanted to say I am sorry that people are being so horrible just when you are already having a rough time.
I hope all goes well for your husband, mother and friend, and that you are able to get rid of these people who are upsetting you. You just don't need them in your life.
Thinking of you all. Big hugs from me.
Darlene, when people behave like this its all about them
so sorry someone is just being downright mean.
wonder if she ever stops to think about being in the persons shoes she is bullying? sounds likes she just thinks of herself...
don't give it another thought you have too much on your plate already, we all know what your like....
Kathie
Sending lots and lots of good thoughts that this week is going to be WAY better! You are so right...perspective...life is way too short to spend any time on trying to make any sense out of all the meaness! Just hit that delete button my friend!
I am so sorry to hear that you are under so much stress from so many sides! The only thing important is that Ron and your Mom heal and you take care of yourself. I like Paulette's take on the bullies, although I have no idea who is being ugly.
I was so sad when I read about Kaaren's situation. Life is so hard sometimes.
Darlene you said it all there are more important issues and I hope with the strong hand that all will come out with grand promises of great health.
I hope Angels of healing come your way quickly both physically and emotionally.
Darlene, I'm glad to hear your Mom made it thru surgery okay and I'll be watching for updates on DH this week. Do keep us posted as you can. All I know for certain is that YOU'RE not a mean, ugly person and in my book - that's all that matters. You matter. Your kindness and your heart. Sending you a warm, kind hug with smiles and healing luv, *karendianne.
All is well.
Your truly a wonderful preson.
Here's hoping your mom continues to heal and your hubby's procedure goes well and Kaaren can beat her health challenge and people who accuse and bully find something more constructive to do with their time. Life is short and precious.
So many comments above mine say it so well, don't let the bullies get you down. I've known you online for years now and you're a sweetie. Ignore the negative people. Sorry for all the rough times with family illnesses and I hope both patients are soon much better. Take care of yourself. Hugs.
You made the right decisions...in times of crisis it's always hard to know what to do...follow your heart and you'll never go wrong. Keeping you in my prayers!
I hope your hubby, Mom and friend recover well and as fast as possible.
Life is shorter than we imagine.
Well put, life is too short! Life is not fair and somedays are beyond reason. I don't know you but, can feel your strength. Trust your judegments.
Darlene, I'm so sorry to hear all you're going through. My life is somewhat similar right now, and I've found everyone to be very supportive. Keep in mind that if someone is attacking you, they are very unhappy, and trying to bring you to their level. Stay strong, only listen to true friends, and good luck to Ron and your Mom. You have many friends who you've never even 'met' and we're here to help in any way! {{{HUGS}}}
Darlene ~ I'm so sorry that all this is happening with your mom and your husband. I know you feel pulled in two directions. I sure hope all will go well in your mom's recovery and also with your husband and whatever he faces.
Happy Sunday!! I'm so sorry hubby is still having issues!! I can't imagine the tugging you are feeling. I'm glad your mum is fairing well after surgery.
As far as bullies, My dad is bigger then their dad! LOL Love ya!!
Oh Darlene....you certainly put it into perspective....
People who use the internet to bully and try to ruin reputations..and spread lies are cowards!!!!!! no other word for it!!! BUT what makes me even sadder are the "followers" of these bullies that never bother to find out whats REALLY going on!!!!
OR the folks that delete you based on the gossip of someone else. Remeber theres always 2 sides to every story...sadly in this age of technology one person can ruin...or try to..another person just by clicking! then hiding!!!!
All will be fine my friend...just keep taking the high road like you are!!!!!!!
Everyone before me has said it so well. People who choose to bully and be very negative lead a very sad life, and will not find my contentment in life. Go with your heart, and be accountable to only those who are important to you. Best wishes for your husband's and your mother's health.
I don't have a clue about the bullying, but here's the perspective I've been trying to use when dealing with the same type of issue in my life: Be grateful for two things: Mean people make us so much more appreciative of the truly good people who touch our lives, so I will be grateful for the perspective they bring (but not for the cruel-ness). Also I am always so grateful that I don't live in that brain. It must really be unpleasant in there.
Prayers to you and yours!
Well said!
That was such a tough choice to make..so glad your mom made it thru surgery. Sending prayers for all and will look for updates on your husband. Stay postive and move forward.
Like everyone else commented before me...don't let that kind of stuff get you down. I feel bad that you feel bad. Hang in there!!! I'm thinking about you guys!!
So sorry to hear that on top of being seriously worried about your loved ones' health, someone was maligning you! Hope things improve in ALL ways for you and yours. Healthy thoughts are being sent!
So sorry to hear you are under so much stress Darlene, some of it not needed to add to your already full plate.
Hugs coming your way, good thoughts for Hubby and Mom, keep your chin up & keep on stitchin' girl!
{{hugs}} to you my friend! Though we've never met, I can't imagine anyone attacking you! Everyone above me has said what I would say, so I'll just send a great big ol' hug!
So sorry to read about your DH and Mom and all the turmoil in your life! I'll be sending extra T&P's on Wednesday!!
Sometimes we just need to clear the air and get things off our chest, putting your feelings into words helps you. Life is too short we must enjoy every minute and do what makes our heart sing!
Hugs,
Wendy
You go, girl. Seems like you have it all under control and in the right perspective!!!!
Keep smiling! I'm sorry about all the health worries and troubles your family is facing. I hope everyone gets better soon.
I don't know what happened in blogland, but I agree with the sentiment of your post and other's comments that certainly there is no place for bullies or mean-spirited bloggers within the quilting community. I will continue my prayers for your family and will pray for Kaaren.
There are a certain number of mean, stupid people in the world. I am sorry you ran into one of them.
You are a wonderful person. And a lot of people know that and are cheering for you and yours.
Lots of hugs to you - I hope your mom, hubby and Kaaren are all on the mend soon!
I don't know anything about what's going on, but try to just let it roll off your back. The internet is great for allowing people to connect, but it can sure turn out to be a bad thing in a big hurry. People sometimes say things online they would never say face to face. The internet needs a big filter - if it's not nice and postive, it shouldn't go through :)
Hope this week is much better for you! Take care of yourself, too, while you're caring for everyone else.
Oh Darlene, what a rotter of a week you've had. My prayers are with you and your family as they move forward with procedures and healing.
Totally agree. As we were all taught as children, if you can say something nice, say nothing at all. Hope things take a turn for the better this week. It is hard being torn between dueling health issues. You aand yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
Wow - how could anyone come up with something negative about you - you are sweetness and kindness all rolled up in a wonderful package that comes along so infrequently - but always shines light for the rest of us. I'm sorry you had to make a choice - that is always hard - and I'm glad that things are going better for your mom - hope the same for hubby and your dear friend.
I'm shocked that anyone would have anything negative to say about you. You are a wonderfully sweet person. Having been a target also, I know how hurtful it is. Just chalk it up to someone who is jealous and petty. I've been away for a few days and am so sorry to hear about your family's health issues. Have you covered in prayers, sweetie! xo
Praying for all of you Darlene, you are truly a wonderful person and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Ya know, sometimes people forget that there's a human being on the other side of the screen. I do hope that everything works out for the best! Hugs!
Okay, I've been out of the loop for awhile so I don't have a clue but I'm always here. And I hate that I missed your party!!!! BOO-HOO! But I was in Biloxi last week spending time with my Mom and it was wonderful! I look forward to seeing what you do in the coming year!
Big Smile...
Michelle
Darlene...you are in all of our hearts as we all have been in these challenging places and no the anguish..rock and a hard place has nothing on a lot of us. Prayers, blessings, and so many good thoughts are being sent your way!!
Sending positive thoughts your way!
It is odd. There seems to be a bit of this going on. Not sure why or if it is related. I don't understand people. I have enough trouble in my own life not to stir it up in others. So I don't get why people do this. Maybe it makes them feel better? Not sure. You've been in my prayers as has Kaaren. And a few others. Life is hard enough without people throwing rocks.
It saddens me to think that there are people out there that enjoy being mean. What goes around, comes around and one day it will be their turn to experience a touch of nastiness.
I don't know what has been going on, but I wouldn't believe it anyway.
Best wishes for good health for your husband and mother and remember to sit back and find peace for yourself.
I hope your hubby's surgery goes well. Saying a prayer.
Glad to hear mom is doing good.
It is a sad thing, the news about Kaaren, but a lot of people care and the blocks that Allie is collecting will let her know that.
Hugs, carrie p.
Just ignore the stupid people! You and your loved ones are top priority in your life, whatever others might say about that.
Wishing all the best for you and your family and friends. Hugs
