California Girl meets Spools in the Strawberry Fields
(sorry couldn't resist)
This quilt top (aka flimsy) was so much fun to do! A combination of a fabulous pattern and sweet fabrics was a simple formula for a delightful day.
This is one of Camille's (Thimble Blossoms) new patterns called Spools. Her version is done with Marmalade and my version is done with California Girl and a smidgen of Strawberry Fields, both by Joanna of Fig Tree Quilts. Camille's version has narrow borders along the sides and my version has borders all the way around.
I'm not exactly sure when Marmalade will be available but I'm already thinking I need to use a Fig Tree Designs pattern. It's fun to switch things up a bit.
I appreciate your visit - come again soon.
In Friendship!

Darlene, you win! The first of many Spool patterns I'm guessing we'll be seeing online. I'm just itching to get started on mine! I"m going to go with the wobbly spools too, I wonder what that says about us!
Congratulations, this is just over the top adorable!

Looks like the stack of spools could topple at any time. I like that each spool is composed of strips of like colored fabrics.
Love your version!!!! Makes me want to make one too!!!
I fell in love with the Strawberry Fields collection and bought WAY too much fabric...in fact I love all of the Fig Tree collections and always buy too much. So I just love your idea of using these fabrics on this cute pattern. I REALLY need to reduce my stash and this could be a great stash buster/reducer. Thanks for the great idea - your quilt turned out just fantastic! Love it!!!
Wow, that was fast. Funny how that happens when you love a pattern! The fabrics are so fresh!
I love this, love this, love this! Everything you do is so fabulous.
WOW you did a fantastic job of finishing this quilt in record time. Isn't it fun when something hits you and you can't stop. I love the tipsy spools and the fabrics you used are perfect.
Super cute! I'm thinking that'll be the perfect addition to a sewing room wall! Just added another one to the list. Enabler. :)
Oooh, love that offset setting, so fun! This would be great as a scrappy mix too :) Congrats on your fun playday!
Fabulous! Love that you're back at the sewing machine!
