Scrap and Fluff

I've been busy, busy, busy with life (grandchildren, etc)

A couple of weeks ago I had an overwhelming desire to sew but didn't have anything prepared and ready to go.  :-(  I had a busy day ahead of me so there was no time to figure out what I wanted to do.

Since then I've spent fleeting moments of time cutting from my Bonnie and Camille scraps - Bliss, Vintage Modern, Ruby, Marmalade and Happy Go Lucky.

My project requires lots of white squares, too.  :-)

Once I cut my scraps I knew I needed to mix them up.  I decided to toss them in my dryer set on "air fluff" for approximately 2 minutes.

Tossed and ready to go!  :-)

And, the container with my white squares.

Can you guess what I'm prepared to make?

Now when the overwhelming urge to sew happens I'll be ready to sew for as long as I have.
Can I get a woohoo!!!  LOL

I don't know when I'll be back with another post but I'm sure it'll happen soon.  Please continue to bear with me.

Keep in mind that my 7th anniversary in blogging is coming up soon (yes 7 years - whew)

I hope you're enjoying many pieceful days.

In Friendship!

Edit:  I don't know what's happening with the first three pictures but I'll try to fix them.  grrrr

Brillant idea! Putting the squares in the dryer to mix and fluff. I'm hoping that you are making a Scrappy Trip Around The World. I want to make one, but have to finish a couple of projects:) Take care!

Until I saw you mixed them up I was going to say bowties, but now I'm thinking scrappy 4 patches? That's a good idea to get them mixed up, I'll have to remember that one.

I'm guessing a postage stamp quilt. Whatever, it's going to be gorgeous with the Bonnie and Camille fabric. Like your dryer idea - you must watch the lottery:)

I'm thinking you are making a Scrappy Trip Around the World. I would never have thought to use the dryer to mix up the fabrics. I've always used a paper bag. Thanks for the great tip!

I love scrappy and I love stuff all cut up and ready to go. Great idea about the dryer. I wonder if missing squares go to the land of missing socks? LOL

well you certainly have a lot of scraps! I was thinking a trip around the world too, but now I'm wondering if it has something to do with 9 patches? Have fun!

Maybe you are making something out of half square triangles. Whatever it is it is going to be pretty.

I can't wait to see what your making AND I can't believe I missed the first four years of your blogging, but I just started quilting five years ago so I actually only missed out on two (kind of). That is a huge milestone, Congratulations in advance. Big Hugs...

A postage stamp quilt?? And how clever to use the dryer to really mix them up!

My first thought after enlarging the pictures (to have a closer look at the fabric squares) is... a postage stamp quilt. But the white squares are telling me that's not right... I'm thinking something with 9 patch... or 16 patch??? Just hurry up already, so we don't have to keep guessing!!! :)

Shaken not stirred! Look at you go getting all that cutting done! I sure wish I had done that before my surgery. Will be watching to see what you make with all those luscious squares! xo

I'm going to guess 9-patch blocks for Camille's new quilt pattern Niner. It's going to be very cute.

Tammy said...

Oh, I'm thinking you're making half-square triangles (units of one white square and one printed square)to make the Moda Blitzen pattern.

I think you are making a postage stamp quilt (one patch). Whatever you are making it's going to be fantastic. Love the dryer idea.

I'm guessing Up Up and Away, cause that's what I'm sewing and my pile looks a lot like yours!

Really have no idea what you are going to make, but whatever it is, I can't wait to see the result. So many different blocks could be made from all those scraps. How clever putting them in the dryer. I must try that sometime. It is so nice to have everything cut for when you find a few minutes to sew. So glad you have been enjoying your granddaughters. Grandchildren bring so much joy into our lives. Nola

Oops, I meant grandchildren. Nola
