Hi,

I'm Shaye, Darlene's granddaughter, I hope you remember me.  :-)

My momma, Kristie and nana, Darlene need your help, please.  My little sister will be here soon and they need help with a couple of things

They need to get busy on her nursery but my mom can't decide on fabric.
They've looked at Moda & Riley Blake collections.
The one Moda collection she is crazy about won't be available in yardage until the end of October.  That's really cutting close to my sister's anticipated arrival cuz my mom never carries full term.
Do you have suggestions - help us please!  :-)

Bear in mind that my mom doesn't always use typical nursery prints.
For instance, she did my room in Bliss by Bonnie & Camille.

And, my sister doesn't have a name yet because my mom and dad can't seem to agree.
I've suggested Elmo and Mickey but they don't like either one.
I don't understand.  :-)

So we need nursery and name suggestions.
Please!

Big Hugs and Kisses,
Shaye

Nursery fabric? I can't help you there. I haven't a clue what's out there right now.

And a baby name? There are so many great names to choose from. I, myself, have always liked Hannah.

There are so many awesome fabric lines out there these days. I can't help there but as far as names my daughters name is Mikayla and I love that name. I had it picked out many years before I had even met my husband. Good thing I didn't have a boy

Dear Shaye - Elmo and Mickey are pretty awesome names but how about Savannah? It starts with an "S" like your name. What is your favorite color? Maybe the nursery could be done in that color? Good luck. I'm sure that whatever she is named, you will love her.

Dear Miss Shaye...I'm loving Scrumptious but I think the timing may not be good...I think Happy Go Lucky is very fun too...names, hmmmm...that was a struggle for my grandchildren too...Peyton's name was Buster until the day he went home from the hospital...so Elmo and Mickey sound fine to me. LOL!

I see Nancy mentioned Rayn - My granddaughter's middle name is Rayna - meaning Queen. I remember when I was pg and someone (hubby)suggested I name her Huey, Duey and Louey! Donald Ducks Nephews! I was so irritated! LOL! I ended up naming her Serena Lacey. As for the nursery - Just go with a color you like. I saw someone at the fabric store picking out red/white chevrons, some Aqua/white squiggles and another print with red, aqua and white for their little girl - so pretty and modern.

I like the idea of searching on Pinterest. You could also search the fabric designers and see if you see projects made up in that fabric.

I like the name Hazel.

My nephew suggested Winnie the Pooh for a name but your mom might put it in the same category as Elmo and Mickey.

Well, I agree with picking an "S" name! A great connection for two little sisters. As far as baby fabrics, you're on your own there, Sweet Shaye! You could suggest another Thimble Blossom line. The rooms would coordinate!

I think Giggles fabric would be cute for a nursery. I like the name Emily. Or you know what your be super cute, Sophie. Sophie and Shaye.

This is just THE cutest post ever!!! I have no idea what's out there in fabric right now, but names....well.....there are SO many good ones. Sarah. Ellie. Abigail. I could write a book.

How about finding something similar that will go with that new collection, then nana can make a quilt from it when it comes out, and it will match the room?

Oh sweetie, you did such a good job on your post! I think your sister might like gingham. Riley Blake has some wonderful fabrics, or how about polka dots. I also love the name Grace. Now please post when your Mommy has made a decision.

Oh my gosh Shaye! What a great post you have done. You know, I think one of the bright and cheerful "Me and My Sister" fabric collections would be really fun. Lots of bright flowers and fun designs and oh how I love the colors they use. As for names I like several girls names really a lot. I love the name Hannah, and JoyLyn and McCall and Paige...but my favorite name of all (besides Shaye *smile*)is Hannah. It's kind of old fashioned I know but I love it. Anyway, I sure hope your Grandma (who I call my "Wonder Quilter") finds some fabric that works just right and I know whatever your little sister is named, it will be wonderful. I'm sending you a hug with this note sweetie. Thank you again for such a nice post Shaye...WOW, you are growing up fast!!!

My favourite name right now is Emma, my cousin named her little girl Sophie. Shayne I think your little sister will like "me and my sister" fabrics.

Shaye, I suggest that your Mommy pick out 3 fabric line contenders and then let YOU pick the winner! After all... you ARE the big sister!
Names... hmmmm. So many cute names. My favorites are Quinn, Natalie, and Mia!
Write again soon with an update!

Hello Shaye! Pinterest is good starting point. I see someone else mentioned it too. I would pick a color scheme first. that may make things a little easier.

As far as names... I love the name Amelia. :)

Natalia and Natasha are others on my list.

Happy go lucky by Bonnie and Camille. Did my new granddaughter (born on lucky Friday the 13th last week) a quilt from it and love it. How about Adelaide?

My daughter's name is Kate. A beautiful, strong, old-school name that I have known would be my daughter's name since I was 11!
