A Good Day!

I had a very relaxing day in my sewing room and finished my 12 Days of Christmas Designer BOM from the Fat Quarter Shop. I made a slight change - why - because I could. LOL Rather than wonky stars in border I decided to simply add sawtooth stars in the corners.

When I tossed it on the floor to take a picture Cooper decided he wanted to help. :-)

(ignore the wrinkles, please)

Backing pieced - check

Binding pieced - check

I hope you spent time playing with fabric today, too. :-)

Thanks for stopping by - come again soon.

In Friendship!

Sew relaxing indeed! Its pretty with the aqua border and I like your change to the simple sawtooth stars. Amazing how animals can perch in the VERY MIDDLE of things :)

Oh Darlene, I love the change you made to the border, it makes the blocks the focus of the quilt. It is really lovely. I've been sad ever since blocks started showing up in blogs that I didn't join in that particular BOM. I have so few Christmas quilt decorations. I love the picture...Cooper is such a gentleman. Now if either of my little furry girls had seen me throw a quilt top on the floor, in about 30 seconds they would have scrunched it up, laid down on it and claimed it as their own, *they are such little ladies!
I DID get to play with fabric today! I got all the blocks for my "Ice Cream Sundae" by Paula Stoddard, arranged, tagged with row and block numbers and tomorrow I can start to finally assemble her. It will take some time though, as there is no sashing and lots and lots of points to match up. It has been a fun quilt to make, but when I had to set it aside with everything else for surgeries over the last 18 months, I kind of lost my mojo. But it's back now and I'm loving it. I'll get her finished up, then move on to a couple of simple Holiday and Winter toppers and wall hangings (I hope), LOL. Big Hugs dear friend...

The stars in the border might be my favorite part of this terrific quilt. They are an unexpected bonus.

Well Cooper obviously realises that you put quilts on the floor for him to sit on just so you can take his photo.

What is it with animals having to 'christen' everything? Geeze!

Looks like another beauty, Darlene. I love the corner blocks too. Great choice.

I didn't think I would like that blue fabric for the border but I do , it looks icy cool, very wintery. Wonderful job, that's one great pattern. I'm hoping I get mine back from the quilter before Christmas, I"m guessing you'll get yours quilted with time to spare!

HI! I hope you get this message! I was wondering about the Fat Quarter shop BOMs...do you get just enough fabric to make the block? Or is there a little extra in case of mistakes?
