A Fun Finish

Yesterday I finished my Starry Eyed Quilt Countdown to Christmas flimsy and I am beyond thrilled.
I discovered this pattern on the Moda Bake Shop last year and wanted to make it very badly.  I'd already made several other projects using Countdown to Christmas and simply couldn't justify spending more money.  So, I printed the pattern and added it to my 'someday list'.  Sigh!  :-)

Fast forward to 2012.
Not long ago I was chatting with my friend, Carol at Brown Quilts 4 Me and she mentioned that she had a fat quarter bundle of Countdown to Christmas and wasn't sure what she wanted to do with it.  Well, I immediately sent the link to the Moda Bake Shop pattern and she was instantly smitten.  :-)  I like being an enabler.  teehee!  The pattern requires a layer cake and two charm packs (ironically I had four charm packs).  She offered to share her fat quarter bundle with me and I offered to send two charm packs to her - TA DA - now we could both make this quilt.  (insert happy dance)  LOL

Carol and I have shared fat quarter bundles in the past and have some wonderful quilts.
We have lots of fun planning and sharing projects.

Carol, thank you so much for being such a great friend.

I appreciate your visit - I hope you're enjoying a pieceful day.

In Friendship!

I love the way your quilt turned out. It's no wonder that you wanted to make it STILL a year later. And, I need a friend like you both that can come up with the fabric I am short of. . .

That quilt is also on my to-do list, along with a great many others. Countdown to Christmas was one of my favourite Christmas lines ever, along with Figgy Pudding, Fruitcake, and Blitzen.

I think this enabler thing works both ways! It's not a bad thing though because look at the end result! You both have amazing quilts! I adore Countdown to Christmas and have been hoarding my FQB of it. It's perfect in that MBS pattern and it's easy to see why you love it! Three cheers for another fabulous finish!

I am beyond thrilled that you were able to get this project completed! It is one of the few quilts that I've made exactly like the patten, how could I possibly improve on perfection. Mine's just home from the quilter, I need to get it on my guest room bed. I hope you're able to finish yours up and enjoy it this Christmas season too!
