Don't Ya Just Hate It?????

What? When you're in a funk and you accomplish absolutely nothing. My sewing machine has been sitting idle for almost two weeks. What's wrong? Oh, who knows! Just not in the mood to sew - well I am in the mood but just can get motivated. grrrrr I've been visiting lots and lots of Blogs and cheering everyone else on but can't seem to cheer myself on. BIG SIGH! :-)

Next week end we head to the mountains to sew for three days again. I need to make the most of it because we don't go again till sometime next year. Hopefully between now and then I'll get inspired to at least prepare a couple of projects. My cute little teaser half square triangles are sitting in the basket calling my name but...
Another BIG Sigh! :-)

OK, I'm done feeling sorry for myself - thank you for listening! This too shall pass!

Oh Darlene, I'm in a funk right along with you, so I can certainly sympathize. It sounds like your planned retreat might help boost you out of it. I know being with other quilters really gets my creative juices flowing. Don't despair! This too shall pass!

Yeah, I hate it. Long story, but I feel like I'm just dragging my feet with everything, and it's been that way too long. I agree with Lisa, I think a retreat would be a great way to get re-inspired, hope it works out that way for you!

I'll bet the retreat will just work miracles. Sounds wonderful to me. Being around other quilters and seeing what they are all doing will be the spark you need. Sometimes we just need a break :)

Yes, 'enforced' sewing should do the trick. Anyway, your stash and sewing machine will always be there waiting for you when you get back in the mood.

Darlene: I wish I could catch some of what you have. All I want to do is quilt. Good luck getting over it!

I know a retreat really inspires me. If you can just force yourself to get projects ready to go I bet you will come home with a whole new attitude.

hope the retreat will inspire you to work on something.
If not there will come a time when you will want to go back to quilting. In the mean time perhaps just enjoy doing something else.

You'll be right back at the machine before you know it. I think I hear those hst's calling, too. And those dear little hexagons -- well, they can't be left unattended -- you never know what sort of mischief they will make *s*
Have fun at your retreat.

Everyone has periods when they don't feel like doing anything. I agree with the others - a retreat may be just the thing for you to do right now. Go and have lots of fun!

I'll be your cheerleader if you'll be mine. I've been in the worst quilting funk lately! But yesterday I had retail therapy and will be sewing today. (Details tonight on my blog.) So If I can do it so can you. :-) Find a quick fun little project and JUST DO IT!

Yes, those old blue moods pass over us all and then an energetic wind comes and blows the clouds away.

We all get in those funky moods, and the worst part is the guilt we suffer because we are not being productive.

I hope the retreat gives you a boost of quilting energy.

Oh anytime Darlene because we have all been there!

Ahhh - maybe you are just letting the rest of us catch up to you with your score of tops!!! I think the retreat will get you going again though. No sewing planned here today - we are going to empty out the flower baskets and put them away for winter and then enjoy a fall walk. Plenty of cold winter days ahead for me, so I will take advantage of the beautiful fall weather right now.

Cheers!

Do you feel like quilting at your retreat?? You could do alot of pinning and maybe some quilting. Or just pick a pattern and go with it. Last time you made what?? 3 tops!!??

I've just come out of a slump and I did it by doing the unstructured halloween quilt. No rules no pattern, just whatever came to mind. Now I seem to be all better and ready to go. You will move past this too!
