I Have An Urge…
An urge to show you this quilt. I don’t why I was thinking about this quilt today. Since it was on my mind all day I decided to pull it out of my BIG RED cabinet and show it to all of you. I made it approx 5 years ago and it will forever remain a favorite!

An urge to show you what I started working on last night. I’m using a Sanctuary Jelly Roll by Moda. This is a pattern from Super Simple Strips by Possibilities. Quick, cute and fun.
An urge to show you the pile of fabric I’ve been collecting for an upcoming project. I fell in love with those roses and decided they needed to be in one of my quilts (ok, flimsies – lol). So, I’ve been searching for pretty coordinates – need another yellow or two but soon I will be ready to start cutting.
An urge to dance or skip across the desert with excitement for Wendy. You’ve got to go read about her BIG news on her blog. Maybe you’ll want to dance or skip with me. Oh, wait instead of dancing or skipping, let’s do the Hokey Pokey with Vicky. You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out and you shake it all about..... LOL (are you dancing with me????)
An urge to share with you that I started my day with a phone call from Nadine. Yes, Nadine called me again! I was so excited to hear from her that it put a huge smile on my heart. She called because she was concerned about me. If you don’t know Nadine you must visit her blog and get to know her, she’s a dear friend and a delightful person to enjoy!

Happy day and thanks so much for reading my blog!

Now for the quilt. If you can't manage to fit it back into your big red cabinet I'll email you my address. I even pay the postage......pleeeeeeze?????lol
WOW ! WOW !
A bunch of beauties and good news ! Isn't life wonderful ? and isn't that a sweet sensation, to feel the urge of sharing it with friends ?
Now, about your RED cabinet, dear, ... LOL LOL
Biiiiiiig hugs & smiles !

Love that quilt, great way to jazz up a simple strip quilt, and cool fabric. Now we need that photo of the dancing across the desert. I went to see Wendy, and the designer's blog - VERY exciting.
I love that quilt! You always have great colour combinations. The sanctuary fabrics look lovely as well:)
Can't wait to see your santuary jelly roll complete as I have brought my own to make up. I have a pattern in mind but just need to get some time to sew.
You have me dancing here in Florida...it is so wonderful to feel your happiness this morning :) Love your quilt...your Sanctuary start is so pretty and I can't wait to see what the new fabrics grow into. Keep dancing!
I can see why your basket quilt is one of your favourites. Gorgeouss! Looking forward to seeing the finished result of your Jelly roll! You amaze me with your talents! Love those colours that you're collecting. I bought a backing fabric that would go with it yesterday during my quilting therapy. Not only is it gorgeous, but it was on sale at $4.00 a yard. So I bought the bolt :oD. There was 6 yards left. Perfect for a twin size backing. Enjoy creating!
I can see why your quilt is a favorite *s* Seems like mine are always the favorite when they are first done . . . but there are those that stay at the top of the list no matter what *s*
Love your fabrics. Sounds like you had a pretty wonderful day.
Beautiful stuff, Darlene. I love your quilt with the Sanctuary fabrics, and your Lady of the Lake is a beauty - always one of my favorite patterns.
What is the block in your first photo Darlene? Delectible Mountains? I love that block and plan to make it up in all pinks and pale greens very soon. I have made the strippy quilt from the Smith and Milligan book, and it turned out so cute. Be sure to use all the trimmings to make half square triangles for the border--it seems like a lot of work, but it "makes" the quilt.

I think you should keep that quilt OUT of the big red cabinet, it's beautiful.
I'm working on my Sanctary jelly roll too. I'll have to show you when I get the blocks together. I've made 30 blocks....whew....
Love your quilt and WIP. Again I demand a pic of the afore mentioned skipping and/or dancing! LOL! Good to hear you sounding chipper!
good urges! thanks for showing your pretty quilt and your beautiful fabric and everything!
Love the quilt and the Possibilities books - Super Simple Strips and the Super Simple Squares are two of my favorites.
Oh, your first picture, that one is my favorite, too! So that means I get it, right? :)
The Sanctuary is gorgeous! Can't wait to see that one all flimsied up!
But like the others, I want a picture of the skipping and dancing across the desert! I don't think I can skip any more! LOL
(Hugs)
P.S.: You HAD to get me humming that again .... bad girl!
Ug. I envy your sanctuary Jelly Roll! I have been looking for one all over my local stores. I found this amazing quilt pattern, who's name escapes me becuase I didn't buy it, becuase they were out- but they had a sampl quilt of a harliquin diamond quilt pattern made up of 9 major diamonds all made up with a multitude of jelly roll stripes that you make into mini diamonds. I love this fsbri so much and can ot wait to finish my own Sanctuary quilt. My pattern is more 30's style.
Interesting Darlene, once again we have made very similar quilts. This basket quilt has a very French feel to it, as does my Provence Baskets. And other than the fact that you made twice as many blocks as I did (!), we used the same block pattern!
