(two posts - keep reading) LOL
The past few days are truly a blur as I've been meeting myself coming and going. Having a bit of trouble keeping up with the demands of everyday life. Sigh! :-) I've even been second guessing my blog; whether or not I should continue blogging. I'm having trouble keeping up lately. No, I'm not THAT busy but I'm not using my time very wisely. I'll figure it out - I can't give up my blog I'd miss it and all of you. :-)
Edit: it's just the Dog Days of Summer - it's been too hot for too long. We had 27 days of over 110 degree temps and now it's just been 103 degrees. I'm craving rain!
When I'm away my DH is really great about putting my mail in a pile and I will usually take my time going through it - remember I love 'fun mail' and my mail is usually 'fun mail'. LOL Sunday evening I looked at the pile and didn't feel like looking through it then and now three days have passed. Yesterday we were out with friends all afternoon and evening so when I dropped onto the couch at 9:00pm I decided it was time to go through my 'fun mail'. I found a new BOM package, some magazines, catalogs and a HUGE surprise - an envelope from Bren. I tore it open and inside was this wonderful and beautiful totebag. Bren, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You've put a huge smile on my face and in my heart. It was a truly incredible surprise.
Bear in mind that Bren was bagophobic like me and asked Linda for guidance and assistance - now she's making these very cute bags. :-)
A Touching Award!
Just before I took my break from the heat I received this wonderful "Nice Matter's" award from Hanne. Thank you so much, Hanne, your thoughfulness means alot to me. I do try to treat others as I like to be treated. I don't do well when I feel used or unappreciated and find that it causes me to put great distance between me and that person. I'm glad that you consider me to be a nice person and that me and my blog inspire you. Thank you, my friend.
I've decided to nominate ALL of you that read my blog for this award - you are a wonderful group and I thank you for your hand in friendship.
Thank you again, for reading my blog and for leaving a comment when you can.
In Friendship!

Oh I know what you mean. I"ve just had the oddest summer and blahs keeping up this year. Wonder what it is?
Beautiful bag Darlene, love mail is so nice. It reminds us that there are people out there that care about us, even though many of them have never met us in person. I'm glad you've decided to keep up with the blogging, we'd miss you terribly. Remember that blogging is supposed to be fun, and a way of recording your works of art, your thoughts and your feelings, and with that comes along new friends and new ideas and inspiration.
((((((Hugs)))))
Darlene, slow down and take a deep breath! Don't even think of not blogging...
Fall is coming and I don't know about you, but it always energizes me. Just think of all the quilts we need to make for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Lots of fun days ahead!
Say WHAAAATTT? Not continue your blog???? What in the world would we do without your posts to keep us on our toes, and keep us striving to be like Dazy??? Girl, you been in "the surface of the sun' city heat toooo long!! LOL Go get a tall cool drink, an armload of quilt books, climb up on the sofa and chill. I'll look for you tomorrow! :>)
Please take a deep breath, count to 10 and it will all be OK...I would miss you more than I can even begin to tell you. Extra special HUGS to you :)
What a beautiful bag!
Kind regards,
Sonnja
It would be AWFUL if you did not blog...we all went through withdrawls while you were off on your retreat from the heat!!
I am so glad you liked the bag. I thought of you the whole time I made it. Margaret's pattern is very simple and I am sure Linda would be available if you want to give it a try *s*...I modified the size of the bag. The original pattern is 2 inches smaller both ways.
My goodness...that bag turned out wonderfully! I think we're all having a fun time making them. Bren did a beautiful job!
What a gorgeous bag - Bren did such a lovely job, didn't she?
I hope you don't quit blogging - I know we would all miss you very much!! Maybe take a teeny, tiny break? I said "maybe" - LOL!!
You definitely deserve the award, my friend, for that is who you are ALWAYS!!
I love the bag Darlene, the fabric is just gorgeous. I can't imagine not blogging along with you - it just doesn't bear thinking about!
*hugs*

:-)
It's just the heat got ya. Soon it will cool done and you will feel better . . . in the meantime, enjoy your fun mail.
Welcome home.
I understand how you feel about blogging. It is so nice to have our blogging friends, reading each others blogs and seeing everyone's projects etc. But it is hard to keep on top of our own blog, reading and commenting on other blogs, responding to emails and comments and on top of that do some quilting -- and maybe even work a shift or two in between.
I find the blogring has gotten so big that I can't get around it very easily and I feel badly if I miss a post on a blog or I am too busy to comment.
I think we need to blog for our own enjoyment. And if we feel a bit overwhelmed at times - take a break, read, don't comment and if we can't reply to every email that's okay. We will understand.
((Hugs)))
Bet you'd feel a lot better if you'd just give me those two quilt tops you made last weekend!
What a cute fall bag. I love it. You lucky girl!!! You know Kim's gonna want it though. LOL!!!!
You get so many comments and are visited by so many people that I imagine it would be overwhelming to think about "keeping up" but even if you never responded, I would still want to visit and comment because when I come to your blog, I feel like I am visiting a friend
Bren did a wonderful job with the bag, i think her bags r gorgeous!!! Plz dont leave blogland, it just wouldnt be the same without u, ur blog always makes me smile and im sure so many other people as well!!!
I agree with what Linda, Pam and others have said. Unfortunately with time constraints I do not follow the ring often. I rely on Google Reader to keep me in touch with my bloging friends. I used to have a long list, but have now narrowed it down. When I need to zone out, I'll follow the ring, but never seem to get to the end, so I quit! Of course there are those blogs that are just sensory overload! That will usually make me quit sooner! lol I hope you find your center soon! Quiet time always works for me. Keep well my friend!
Don't you dare stop blogging. I've noticed that a lot of folks aren't blogging as much now. Must be we're all worn out after a long, hot summer. Hang in there, sweetie! We're your very best friends, and we'll miss you terribly if you quit showing up at the quilting frame!
Your fun mail sounds FUN! Love the bag. And the award!
Everything looks fabulous Darlene!
I'm glad you'll keep with blogging, I'd miss you too much. What I do is set aside so much time each day and stick close to that time I've allowed. It keeps me sane.
Wonderful bag for taking along to classes.
I just can't understand how you folks can do it - live in heat like that. Makes me feel very ashamed of myself for complaining on my blog the other day about 89.
