The Supporting Cast

I'm getting ready to start doing some Fall decorating (it's time to take down the patriotic stuff - LOL) and decided it might be a good idea to quilt another flimsey from the pile. I'm very disappointed in my quilting decision - I was rushing and thought "oh I'll just put some loops all over this one and it'll be fine" - wrong! I agonized about whether or not I should sit and rip out the stitches and then decided that every quilt can't be a Super Star and have it's name in lights - there must a Supporting Cast. This one will have a 'bit part' and not even be mentioned in the credits. LOL I've come to terms with it and decided that it will look great folded with other Fall quilts. The best part - it's out of the pile of flimsies - that's a really good thing. :-) Now I must find the binding and call it DONE.

I had a wonderful surprise phone call yesterday - Angie called! We chatted; we laughed; we chatted; we laughed................................ We are so much alike it's a bit scary. You must go visit her blog and check out her wonderful Fall projects.

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate that you do. Come again soon!

In Friendship!

Oh Darlene...I would be VERY happy if I could do something as simple as your "make do" circles. Can I come to your house for lessons???

I'll pop over to see Angie now.

Hugs

I like the quilt. Quilted and ready to use is much better than sitting in a pile of need-to-bes. Remember Ronald Regan was a "B" actor and look where he ended up.

Darlene I think it's wonderful. If you think that's bad I'll send you all my quilt tops to do....

I actually really like the loopy quilting for this. . . with the fall colors on the quilt. . . it reminds me of a fall wind blowing around fall leaves. . . just right! (But I do understand. . . I'm overly picky about my own quilts. . . I usually want to change something. . . But I'm learning to just appreciate the 'personality' of each quilt. . .
. . . now if we culd just get the cooler weather to go with the fall quilts!

Looks great from here! And that's such a good term--Supporting Cast! I agonized a lot this summer with those same issues! LOL Like all my quilts are going to be heirlooms! HA!

At least they're very nice loops! I love autumn quilts - hard to believe it's that time of year again but I've been loving our weather.

I love it! The quilting looks fantastic, definetley a "star" quilt!!

Oh yes - I love decorating for fall - the colors and tones are so warm and such a great contrast to the brightness of summer.
Bummer about your quilting - another reason that I only machine quilt straight line.

I LOVE your quilt -- you can send it to my house anytime!!

Your may not consider this a 'star' quilt - but I think it is lovely! Gorgeous fall colours, simple and effective setting, very competent quilting. Don't be too hard on it (or yourself) :)

Um, since those loops are better than my best at machine quilting -- I'm just going to say congrats on the finish! I love that border!
