Prairie Sweets Progress

This project has been consuming my sit down time this past week. 23 blocks completed; 19 to go. I'm hand appliquing the rings so it's a perfect sit down project.
We moved into this home over two years ago and I still have packed boxes of fabric and such. My mind set has been "out of sight, out of mind" - LOL. Yesterday I decided it was time to start dealing with some of those boxes. I had so much fun getting reacquainted with fabric and projects that I had pushed out of my mind. It's so easy to concentrate on the newest things and completely forget about those things I had to have way back when. LOL I still have some boxes to go through but I'm really looking forward to it. I had to concentrate on unpacking and sorting and not allow myself to get sidetracked to plan a new project or two.
I've been following the "fabric rutt" thread on the Prim Yahoo Group and while unpacking I discovered that I'm definitely not in a fabric rutt - LOL. I seem to love it all - except Batiks. Of course, just looking through the piles of past projects really tells the story that I really do love it all. :-)
I hope that you have had wonderful holidays and found time to do a little reflecting. I've been quite a bit of time reflecting about 2007 and wondering what's in store in 2008. I'll be back later to share!
Thanks for popping by to visit - it's wonderful that you do.
In Friendship!

Oh - show us pictures of the results of your box diving! No fair tempting us with tales without pictures. Remember when we were kids we went for the books with pictures - well, I think we are still kids!

The blocks are fabulous - of course!

Love the blocks, but I think we need to see the contents of all those boxes. It's a bit like saying there's a parcel under the tree and not being allowed to open it.....lol...

How fun to go down memory lane with past projects. Some are worth keeping others maybe not so much....at least that how it happens for me.

You've done so many of the block rings, that's fantastic. The quilt will be done in no time.

Happy New Year 2008!

Darlene, I thought I was the only quilter who doesn't like batiks. I thought about going through a UFO box of counted cross stitch and perhaps getting one or more of those finished in 2008. It's been so fun getting you know you here in this blog world and I'm glad we're friends. Wishes for the BEST in 2008! cw

Happy New Year Darlene! May 2008 bring you all that your heart desires or better! Love that quilt! I've been following that thread also. I'm not in a fabric rut! I love it all except novelties! Keep well!

That's a gorgeous quilt, I think I may need to go across to Fresh Figs to get myself a pattern.

Good luck with working through your stash - I have been trying unsuccessfully for years. Somehow the start of a new qult always seems to require a shopping trip.

Those blocks are adorable. With my sewing room half packed up and now not moving two months, I may have to go box diving myself.

Happy New Year!

Those blocks are so lovely, Darlene! It's wonderful you are going through your boxes of fabric! It's a lot of fun to see what quilting ideas you had awhile back, isn't it? I always enjoy doing that, too. Reflection of any kind is good for the soul, I think! 2008 is going to be a very good year, I just know it!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, my friend!!
