Springing Into Summer
in the Desert

This beautiful flower is one of numerous blooms on the cactus next door! We're looking forward to more blooms - it's loaded with buds! They can be enjoyed late at night or early morning because as the sun rises they close up.

I wish I had lots of quilting and stitching to share but alas it's been a very lazy week. Sigh!

On a super happy note - there's a new Little Blue in the house - woohoo! My sweet hubby went out last Monday to 'run an errand' and came home with a new friend for me. It's no wonder I LOVE that man - he does spoil me (rotten). teehee!

edit - Little Blue II is a replacement for my Little Blue netbook computer that simply bit the dust last Sunday morning.

I'll be back soon with quilting and stitching to share!

I appreciate your visit - come again soon!

In Friendship!

Oh you're soooo spoiled and I love it!!! I think Mr. QD is definitely a keeper.

Little or no sewing has taken place here as well, Darlene. I've been doing a lot of work in my gardens and when I'm finished that, I have very little energy for anything else.

Cool flower. A New Little Blue and a gift at that! I was ogling netbooks at the store today (while boringly buying a new dehumidifier) and they are so cute!!!

Your honey is so sweet. When I read your post about Little Blue, I wasn't too concerned. I was already expecting him to get you a new one! :) You should definitely keep him around!

Happy to hear you have a new Little Blue. It has been a lazy week for me too, and a busy week this week so we'll see how I do.

HI Darlene!

I finally had a good week in my sewing room, that, after a month of bad weeks! You had a very productive April, you've earned some rest in May.

Love that cactus bloom, I don't think I've ever seen cactus blooms in person, and there you've got them in your yard! Wow!!

Great news, a new little blue!!

That's a really nice picture of the cactus blossom. I was super lazy yesterday, I think it was because it was so hot in our house. We turned on our A/C for the first time this year today and it's much more comfortable in our house. That's great that you got a new laptop.

Congrats on the new addition to your family . . . .Blue-ette! Would love to see a pic of the whole cactus when it is all blooming. We can't grow anything like that here with a lot of success....too damp.

We don't see cacti around here except for potted ones so we miss out on all that beauty.

Glad you got a new computer, a must for us bloggers. :)

Hi Darlene!
Isn't this flower called the Night Blooming Cereus? I saw one this winter blooming in a desert wash garden. Spectacular flower!! They only bloom for one day before they shrivel up!! So sad!
