In Friendship!
*
Through my blog I try to extend my hand 'in friendship' and work hard at keeping it non-controversial. I've been contemplating a blog post to rant a little about something that simply doesn't matter. I mean seriously in the grand scheme of things and life's daily challenges my little rant was really silly. So instead I'm going to leave you with my thought for the day....

treat others as you want to be treated

I agree 100%!

I couldn't agree more Darlene. Unfortunately some people are just born to be a-holes. Which when you think about it isn't such a bad thing because it helps us to recognize and appreciate the good people that cross our paths.

That is how I try to live. But ranting is still ok, it lets us vent those emotions, and if it's done to friends it causes no harm and can make us feel better!

Amen, sister!

Yes, that is certainly a very important Golden rule.

Wouldn't life be so nice if everyone thought like that.

Couldn't agree with you more. So glad to see that the words and actions of others aren't piercing your heart so much.

So true! It's hard to pass that on to your kids when they are subject to other kids that don't understand the concept of respect and kindness. It's something that is so basic but makes a world of difference.

I definitely try to follow this. I had a rant as well this morning.

Amen! That said, we all need to vent and rant a little every now and then! LOL

They're not worth your tears--- let it go.....There's plenty of people out there to appreciate your goodness.

We have to pray that those who are unkind will soon discover the joy that kindness and love can bring into our lives.

Oh - very well said. Many times people don't think before they speak - or if they think, it is not nice thoughts. Thoughtless and unkind is just not what we need.

I always try to live by this - be extra nice to everyone you meet - you never know what they may have just been through. It helps when the going gets tough - and though I sometimes fail - I do try.

Hugs and good vibes to you, my dear - and may your true friends shine.

Sometimes we just have to shake things off, and get on with your own private happiness.

Very well said! :-) I hope you have a wonderful day and if a bit of venting makes you feel even a little better~ go for it! :-)

You know I agree 100%...why do people have to be mean?

It really shouldn't be that hard...and yet, profoundly effective.

I try to teach my fourth graders this, and for some it's just too hard to do. I guess they grow up to be adults that don't follow the golden rule! I for one, have to have a rant to be able to let it go.

Nice words Darlene......not sure what prompted them....but well said.....If I feel like a rant I write it down and get it off my chest..then come back 24 hours later and if it still says "send/say me" then I send or say......sometimes it just seems "silly" ...so I hit the delete button......I always feel better for getting it out of my head though.

Well said. I couldn't agree more.

Take a deep breath, grap a mug of coffee/cup of tea and a slab of chocolate, indulge and relax... I agree with you!

I think if someone says/does something that upsets you, it does matter (albeit only for a little while) and I agree with Lorraine's comment. Write it down, then walk away for 24 hours. If it still hurts then, go ahead and have a little mini-rant here, where you're among friends.

Ruh-Roh! I hope everything is ok. Great thought for the day!

I'm sorry that someone was unkind. But you chose to rise above it. (Not that there is anything wrong with a rant now and then!!!)

I completely understand how you feel. I have had some nasty commenters before...of course they are anonymous!

I have a little quote on my fridge it's yellowed and crinkled and I don't remember where I cut it out from.
"No matter what scales we use, we never know the weight of another person's burdens."
I try to remember that both in dealing with nasty people and when I open my mouth to speak (which isn't easy sometimes either way!)
sorry someone took their burdens out on you.

Good example. Good reminder. Good words to live by.
