A Tisket, A Tasket; Pretty Little Baskets

I’ve been playing with charm packs for weeks now and I’ve been ready to do something a little more substantial – more “meat”, so to speak. I’ve looked through patterns, books, etc and finally settled on this project. They are definitely a bit more time consuming than my four patch charms (LOL). You might notice there are four different versions of the baskets/cakestands and I need to make 9 of each. Yesterday I was having so much fun working on these beauties that I lost all track of time. A fabulous day in the sewing room.
Edit: I'm not using charm squares for this one - I have partial fat quarters and scraps from another project. I didn't want to mislead anyone!

Take me out to the ballgame!!! It’s that time WOOHOO – it’s baseball season. A needle and thread with a cute project and a baseball game on TV makes me a happy girl. teehee

Your baskets are beautiful! I know what you mean about "more meat". It's just that it's so hard to cut up those darling charms! Though now that I see your beautiful baskets... I know how to solve my problem of cutting into the the charms... I just need to buy four charm packs instead of two!

I'm hoping one day the charm packs will be sold without pinked edges. Grrrr those edges bug me!

You go, girlfriend! :D Love those basket blocks...those fabrics are my wonderful colors. :D Can you believe it's actually time for baseball to start...and Easter's this coming weekend, oh my...I keep feeling like I'm dancing as fast as I can but I need to go faster still!!! :( Still no quilting on my end--I'm still playing in the dirt. :D

What fun little baskets! And I think I passed the test. =) Took a little while but now I see the 4 different versions.

I want to let you know how inspirational your 4 patch charm quilts have been. I added a couple extra packs and purchased a couple companion fabrics to my Democracy charms. I liked your Picket Fence quilt so much I want try one.

YAY for Baseball! I thought I was the only one crazy about baseball AND quilting. (Cubs & Reds are on my TV right now-LOL) I'm really getting excited about Friday. I pick up my new uniform tomorrow for Friday night's opener. Nothing quite like the crack of the bat!!

Sweet baskets! 9 of each, hum... is this going to be a large quilt? What do you have in mind for the border? I went to the Bernina dealer in Vermont on Thurs and saw fabric that made me think of you. Of course I bought some! Keep well!

Good colors in the baskets - love 'em. I'm not a sports fan but I have a sister who's a big baseball fan too. And of course DH makes up for my lack of sports interest.

Oh, those basket blocks are just adorable! Love, love, love basket quilts. And you're so right--baseball, yay! We're hoping our KC Royals don't have another 100-game loss this season!!!

Love basket blocks, though I don't think I've ever made any! I'll put them on my list! I recognise some of your fabrics from my own stash.

Another fun project - I really like how there are different style baskets. . . and you can never go wrong with scrappy quilts. I think several of your fabrics have passed through my stash. I think that's so fun.

Ooo had to enlarge the photo to see the baskets better. Baskets are just the best kind of block design. And I can see you are using your stash :-).

Finally had time to sit and have a read of your blog. I just love your table toppers, and have saved your directions, thanks. Think I also saw a snipet about your love of charm squares. Perhaps I didn't read far enough, are you making a quilt from these little squares?
Happy Easter.

Another great idea. I have yet to make a basket quilt - I must put that on my list. Great for using up the scraps.

Happy Easter
