Schnibblemania
Schnibblepalooza
*
There's really been a song in my heart and smile on my face in recent weeks Why? Well, I've been working really hard on a self-challenge and having so much fun! Truly sewing like my hair's on fire. LOL
*
How many times have we looked through a new quilt book and said "oh I'd love to make every quilt in this book"? Then we look through it again and again and dismiss one or two and in the end sometimes we don't even make one of the quilts in the book. LOL
Since this book was released I've said over and over again, "I want to make every quilt in this book"
*
On Monday, July 5, I was chatting with Mr Daze about how much fun it would be to make all the quilts in Carrie Nelson's Schnibbles Times Two book. I explained that I'd already made two but there were 10 more quilts to do and didn't know whether or not it was a goal I could achieve. He looked at me and said, "go for it and enjoy". That evening I chatted with the Queen of Schnibbles and she encouraged me to start sewing! We discussed a variety of Layer Cakes & such and Tuesday I placed an order for several Layer Cakes and yardages.
*
My orders started arriving and I got busy cutting & sewing.
*
Every day, for the next 12 days I'll be posting a new Big Schnibble - I hope you'll enjoy reading about my Big Schnibble journey. By the way all the quilts have been made entirely with Moda fabrics!

#1 - A Blissful Short Story!
(my personal favorite)

Thank you for visiting! Come back tomorrow for a new Big Schnibble :-)

How fun! I love this quilt a lot! Every quilt I've seen made with Bliss is beautiful. I have a Fat Quarter Bundle of Bliss, hopefully I'll find time to use it soon. Now this is something to look forward to each day.

Darlene!! You did it again, Short Story is one of the patterns for August for the Year of Scnibbles! How do you do that??? PLUS how do you make it in fabric that I can't even buy yet!! I'm thinking of copying you, I love your fabric choice for this pattern.

I am completely in awe of the volume of quilts you've made lately, I'm eager to see them all.

You really motivate me to get going......

Ok, so this is beautiful but I have to ask... this book only came out a couple of months ago and you have made the big versions of the other 10 quilts that you didn't already own?

Holy sewing cow batman! That's quite the accomplishment! I think Kelly should give you a Charmin' award for sewing passion!!!!

Hummm... The Charmie's lol... maybe that's something for next year ;)

What a clever idea. I'm going to enjoy seeing all these, specially as I am waiting for the book to become available again.

Ambitious goal, my friend, but if anyone can do it, you sure can.

Start the music and bring on the parade...I'm ready. I even brought my own lawn chair because I doubt that these old legs could remain standing for an entire week.

Diane said...

great goal! I have often said I want to make every quilt in the book and then a new book arrives and I repeat the mantra but never get the quilts done.

Oh my what a fun challenge you set. I've been wanting to make that quilt for a long time, it sure looks stunning with that Bliss line of fabrics. I look forward to many more quilts from this book.

How fun! You are going to have quite a fabulous collection of quilts when you are done. Of course they will be Moda, what else? LOL! I can't wait to see the parade!

I am loving that line of fabric! I'm making my own Short story so I can really appreciate this one. I also looked at the book over and over and over and finally decided on Imagine, Short Story, Plan C and McGuffey. I have an bit of incentive to finish up Plan C and Short Story this month since Sherri and Sinta selected those as this month's Schnibble.
