Thinking Out Loud!

Has this happened to you? Have you left comments on different blogs and been ignored? Are there some blogs that you visit over and over and over again; leaving comment, after comment, after comment hoping to make a connection. You love the blog owner's style and you really want to get to know her/him better. Well, if that's happened to you when you've visited my blog I am here to apologize. 2008 was a super busy and stressful year for me and I did all I could to keep up with my life in general - I tried to keep up with blogging but in many cases failed miserably! Sigh!

I've made a fresh start recently - if you've visited my blog and left a comment I've responded to your comment and my plans are to diligently work on that! Bear in mind that if you're set up for "no reply" or your comment is annonymous then obviously I can't respond. So consider yourself warned - you're going to be hearing from me. LOL

Speaking of fresh starts! :-) The first block of a new BOM arrived yesterday and it's done. This is called "Women of Influence" through Homestead Hearth. In 2010, America will celebrate the 90th anniversary of women securing the right to vote. Block #1 commemorates Lucy Stone - who worked for the suffrage movement for almost 50 years. Thank you, Lucy Stone!

Thanks bunches for visiting - come again and come often!

In Friendship!

Oh, I love Homestead Hearth. They do such a great job with their BOM and I live within driving distance. The store is just as fabulous as their website...

Great block...

Definitely like the BOM you chose! It's going to be awesome. Don't you love BOM?? One block a month and then you have a great quilt!

Lots of BOM's out there this year and I am tempted to do them all. I am doing the Bunny Hill BOM and I LOVE your redwork one. You've got my gears spinning. I may have to try that too.

Darlene, let me be the first to say that I'm sure you'll find that most bloggers that visit here with you understand that your life has been hectic, to say the least. I certainly wasn't offended or put off by occasionally not receiving a reply. Surely that's not the only reason we leave a comment. Yes it's nice to get a reply, but I know I leave a comment because my eyes, mind or heart are drawn to the post and I feel a need to express my heart. Here's hoping that this year is filled with more "YOU" time and more fun and loads more "JOY".

I'ts wonderful when other bloggers leave a comment and now that I'm blogging, I get it. I don't always expect a reply unless I ask a question, because on some posts, you see that there are huge numbers of comments and the blogger just wouldn't have time.
The new block is lovely, love the fabrics especially.

Darlene - I really appreciate it when I hear back from comments left on your post - but most of us know and understand that 2008 was stressful for you - so please don't worry - after all - isn't that what we're all here for - to support each other (and have some fun!)?
I almost signed up for that BOM - wish I had time for it - but now I can watch and drool over it on your blog - thanks!
Cheers!

Darlene, dear,
Among all the quilters I'm so lucky to know, you're one of the kindest, and I never felt "neglected" or "ignored" by you ;>)
We all have our tough moments, some years (even days) are lighter than others, and I know that not answering doesn't mean not willing to answer ! I love your always encouraging comments, and if you happen to be a little silent sometimes, I know you've got good reasons. This has a simple name : FRIENDSHIP ;>)
So, don't you never, ever worry, dear friend, you just do what you can, whenever you can ;>)

AND, by the way, YOU DID IT SO WELL AGAIN, with that gorgeous block ! LOVE, love it.... but don't you dare tempting me, I can resist this - at least 3 days - TeeHee

HUGS & smiles to you, dear!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

I have not commented here before, I think, and I never really expect any response when commenting - we all have such busy lives...

Well, I'm here to say that you have always been good about replying to my comments, that's very sweet of you. I love that BOM! Oh good grief, am I going to be tempted by another BOM? I need to go look at that.

What a wonderful block and celebrating such a special event for women. You've been a very busy girl.

Darlene, For myself I don't expect a reply and I hope that people understands if I don't reply to them. It would be impossible to answer every single email.

Oh wow a new BOM, it's wonderful.

What a beautiful block! Love the history, too.
I do understand what you're saying about not hearing from bloggers after leaving a comment or two. I think some bloggers answer you, and some don't. I know you're kinda fond of me whether you answer me or not! You're stuck with me, friend o' mine!
H'moosies!!!!

There is one particular blog that I've been reading since I found out about blogging. I've left comments but never heard anything back. I stopped leaving comments but still enjoy going over there to see what she is doing. I guess some people respond and some don't. I need to make sure that I also respond to anyone kind enough to leave a comment on my own blog.
Have a great day!!!

For some reason, it hit me last night after I left a comment that the star has a nine patch block not a four patch block. Those blues just caught my eye and that is what I counted. I can count really.

What a fun BOM! Isn't it amazing that it was only 90 years ago that we couldn't vote?!? I'm going to go check out that website!

Darlene - oh I shouldn't visit your block - yet another beautiful BOM you're doing and so tempting...but no, I'll resist and enjoy instead the pictures you'll show of your blocks! ;o)
I always try to answer to comments on my blog - I sometimes need a week or more and sometimes a comment slips through and doesn't get answered...but I try to give my best.
I don't expect to get an answer on every comment I post - that's definitely not neccessary and sometimes I just want to tell "wow, wonderful". But...well, yes, there's a 'but'...I also experienced that I wrote comments on blogs, repeatedly giving tips, asking questions and haven't gotten any answer - I don't quit reading that blogs, but I now think twice if I comment or not...

oops, forgot to close my comment...so here it is ;o):

Have a great week,
Julia

The thing I hate the most is when someone asks me a question that I would want to answer - and they are no reply. I HATE THAT! I try to answer my comments but I never answer all of them all the time. I try though!

Love the block.
