Four Years Ago
Day 2

The party is over at 109 comments.

We'll be back later today to announce the winner!

Yes, I'm very late today. I'm terribly sorry I took my hubby, aka Mr Daze to breakfast this morning. :-) It's very important to keep him happy - he works very hard to keep me happy!
*

Here we are ready to party again. WooHoo!! Thank you for playing yesterday - I enjoyed reading your guesses. :-)

It's been super hot this week here on the Surface of the Sun - 109 degrees - ugh! I've been searching for refreshing, thirst quenching drinks. There's been ice cold bottled water, ice cold caffeine free diet coke and ice cold sweet tea but one of my favorite refreshing drinks can be found at The Red Robin - it's called Freckled Lemonade aka Strawberry Lemonade. Lemonade with chunks of strawberries and crushed ice - YUM!!! Serious YUM!
*

So, to quench your thirst for some fun fabrics today's prize is called Strawberry Lemonade by Me & My Sister Designs for Moda - there are 39 pieces ( cut approx 10" x 18") + a panel.
*

Let me toss your name in the proverbial hat by telling me what you would do with these cuties if you won. See easy peasy - no guessing game this time. LOL

I'm looking forward to your comments about this sweet prints.
*
Reminder - I'll announce the winners of all four prizes on Tuesday, June 15th.

*
See you tomorrow for Day #3, Game #3 & Prize #3
*
In Friendship!

I would make a quilt to cover a wooden picnic table. it would double as a picnic blanket when a table couldn't be found.

Anne Ida said...

Oh, yummmmmmy!!! Those fabrics just shout summer - so how about a picnic quilt (the roll-up type complete with ribbons and rock pockets), a basket ruffle/cover and some napkins?? Oh, I can picture it now - sigh ;o)

Sandie @ crazy'boutquilts said...

Cute fabrics! I'd make summery table/picnic items... that is if my DD didn't swipe them straight away for a picnic blanket. :-) Thanks for the fun!

Don't you just love those new FE's precuts? I love them!! sometimes the FQ bundles are just too much and these just fit the bill. I have a cousin that is having a baby Girl in September and I've been looking for the perfect fabric. If I won, I would make that little critter a quilt.

I think I'm needing a trip to Red Robin!

Cindy said...

I would put these fabrics with the lonely charm pack of this line that I have to make a Schnibbles to brighten our kitchen nook. Then I could also have enough to do make matching placemats. How cute would does that sound?

Carol said...

I think it needs a pattern that uses large bits of fabric since some of the fabrics are larger prints - maybe some snowball blocks and nine patches.

Amy said...

This would make a cute baby quilt and a fun table runner.

Ceamz/Cayleigh said...

I would make a coin baby quilt for a friend expecting baby #8 : )

Linda said...

Lets see, the perfect quilt pattern mmmm, I would design my own.

Trish said...

I would use it to make the Buggy Barn posey quilt. The bright happy colors would be just perfect!

I think I would make a cute wall hanging for my daughter's bedroom. These are all her favorite colors. She is 6 and the last quilt I made for her hasn't been quilted yet, because it is a bed quilt and she takes markers to bed at night. If I made her a wall quilt, it would be something she could put on her wall and I wouldn't have to fear her falling asleep with a marker in her bed.

paulette said...

If I won this delightful bundle I think I would make the BIG Between Friends quilt...Wouldn't it be cute? :') Take care and thanks for the chance!!
Paulette

Dresden Quilter said...

A quilt or a big market bag. Hubby and I got out of the valley today and headed up to Payson.

Sarah Craig said...

I'd make a quilt for my adorable granddaughter - I'd tell you what pattern but sadly I'm separated from my cross-stitch magazines at the moment by about 900 miles!!! Does that get me a sympathy vote? ;-)

Elaine Adair said...

mmm - I think a summery Row quilt would be fun. Naturally, a row of flowers, row of quirky houses, maybe some appliqued critters, sunshines, trees, summer veggies, a row of kids holding hands, and ??? ... that is, if I won them. 8-)))

Wendy said...

I love it Strawberry Lemonade quilt would be prefect for the Schnibbles patterns. I just got my book in the mail yesterday. I was very excited to see your name in there. I can tell my friends that you are also my "friend". Fun giveaway.

Anita in Florida said...

Michelle said...

What a fun line! I don't have any girls in our family but I would have to find a pattern to make a quilt. I would donate it to a charity that I've been with for the past 11 years - Log-A-Load for Kids. The logging community in our county raise money for the Arkansas Children Hospital.

Kathy said...

Beautiful fabric. I would love to make a nice summery kitchen table topper. Thanks for the give-away!

Mary said...

I would most definitely make my very first grandchild, Melanie, who is now three weeks old a quilt. There would be enough to make a dolly quilt and a backpack when she gets a little older. Being a grandma is so much fun!

AnnieO said...

There's a baby gonna be born to my cousin and his wife late this year. These fabrics would make a darling welcome baby quilt. It could be two sided with the panel on the front and some patchwork on the back (or vice versa)! My brother and his family live in Scottsdale so have felt the same as you---so hot already!

Anonymous said...

I would have left a guess for yesterday's prize, but I already have one of those magnetic pincushions! (156!)

If I won those fabrics, I would be using them for some of the blocks in Bloomin' Workshop's Flying Geese quilt-a-long (http://tinyurl.com/34b557y) I've collected a few brights for it so far, but they are not my usual fabrics (my usuals being 1930s reproductions & civil war repros).

Thelma said...

I think I would make pinwheels the size of those adorable panels, and alternate to make a throw!

Unknown said...

Your summer cooler sounds scrumptious. Lovely fabrics, I think something summery like a picnic quilt or picnic table cloth.

Meghann said...

Winona said...

Not sure of the pattern I'd use, but it would make a wonderful little girl quilt. I have 3 granddaughters. Winona

Quilter Kathy said...

Well, for a while I would just look at it and admire it, and gloat about it on my blog!
And then I would start making comfort quilts for the pediatric sexual assault centre. The colours are perfect for these quilts!

Laura said...

Hmmm, I particularly like the stripes in this line, so would probably try to pair those with the larger prints in the line in order to showcase those and then work in the other prints where I could. Better yet, I'd find an existing pattern that would work nicely for these prints, like maybe the X-Rated pattern in the Schnibble Times 2 book.

Michelle said...

The fabrics are just what I have been looking for, for a baby quilt I need to make, I'm sure I can hear the fabrics calling my name...

SheilaC said...

Honestly I see a quilt as a table cloth for a summer party. Use the extras to make napkins.....

I hate guessing games. DH is always saying, "Guess how much (many)..."
I refuse to play. This one is easy. I would make the Merry Go Round quilt by American Jane. It is so much fun.

Jonathan said...

Oh my gosh, I have been searching high and low for these fabrics since I used up the last of my charm packs on the charity quilt I made for Margaret's Hope chest last year.
I would use them to make my new little baby cousin a pretty girly quilt ☺

I don't envy your heat there. I'm dreading already this summer. Last year got to be about 112 here in So Cal. Yuck!

Kristy said...

I would have to cut into the panel and use the blocks as centers to a star. I would have an extremely difficult time keeping my daughter from stealing it before it was finished. C.U.T.E :0)

I'd make a nine-patch but I'm not sure I could give it up. Love that fabric!

Becky said...

Love strawberries and love lemonade. Will have to stop at Red Robin to try their drink.

I just received an e-mail that a friend's daughter just gave birth to their first granddaughter. This has been an especially difficult pregnancy, but after two boys they dearly wanted a girl. Your fabrics from Me and My Sister (love their designs) would make a cheery girl baby quilt.

Thanks for the opportunity! Enjoy your weekend!

Strawbery lemondade sounds yummy! And miss Elizabeth will be in a big girl bed before I know it and so she will be needing a new quilt.

Nice bundle! I don't normally buy pure colored fabric since I tend to drift towards the muted and toned down colors, so I do need some stash equalizers for when I need to make a baby quilt or something for children. I now have (almost)10 grandbabies all under six...so lots of projects in my future. One thing I'd like to make is an activity book that will help keep them occupied in church...services can be so long for child so I think some of those prints would work on different pages...

StitchinByTheLake said...

Newest great nephew due....October 9! Wouldn't that make a perfect quilt for him? I think so. :) blessings, marlene

Doodlebug Gail said...

I'd make a pinwheel quilt with those gorgeous fabrics and would probably keep the panel for the backing.

Send us some of your heat! We are still wearing winter clothes here! We get a day of nice weather followed by a week of cold rainy weather! Yuk! Not much summer here yet!

I would use those yummy fabrics for a quilt in one of Atkinson Designs' books like the Shoebox quilt. I love Terry's designs and this quilt has been on my "to do" list for some time now.
