Schnibblemania

*#4 - Open Season with Botany
As I was searching for layer cakes to make the Big Schnibbles quilts I kept going back to Botany - the colors were intriguing to me. Again, a bit outside my box. Dipping my toe in the water to work with fabrics outside my comfort zone has been fun during this challenge. However, I do plan to stay on dry land - I do like my comfort zone. LOL
*
We're a quarter of the way through - are you getting bored? I couple of weeks ago I showed Plan C & Little Red - I don't want to bore you and repeat them but if you want to see them again I'll put them in one blog post (Little Red has it's borders now - LOL).
*
It's very difficult to express via the written word how much I appreciate your comments and compliments - they mean the world to me. You'll never know how much fun I've had working through this silly self challenge and sharing it with YOU has been fun, as well. Thank you!

Although the colors are out of my comfort zone as well, Darlene, I absolutely love the design and can certainly appreciate the work that went into it.

Today is hump day so it's downhill from here, my friend and I know that you'll be picking up speed during the home stretch.

You go girl!

Beautiful piece! Question for you.... Are these going together pretty easily? I have a Nostaglia layer cake and want to try the piece you made for the book.

I think it's great fun to see your new quilt show! You're amazing!

I'm not bored at all -- I love seeing these quilts. I can look at the fabrics on-line, but it's hard to tell what they'll look like in a project until you see them all together. And all of your quilts have been so pretty!

Beautiful quilts and I'm envious of how quickly you're getting them done! I have too much yard and flower garden work to do during the summer, and we're helping two neighbors with their yard mowing, so it doesn't leave much time in the evening to quilt, which is my TRUE passion. Won't be long though and we'll be facing the winter again and I'll get more time to quilt. Keep them coming, love to see the finished product.

It's beautiful Darlene! I have a jelly roll that was a gift and is way out of my comfort zone. I'm actually looking forward to using it! :0)

Geez, I am behind already and I would think reading would be faster than making a quilt top!! LOL
This one and oz are not your usual style but they are very fun!! Nice work!

Darlene, I just love seeing your beautiful creations - no matter how often or what stage they're in.

And, it gives me inspirations. You're such a dear lady.

These colors, too, are out of my comfort zone. But I have found since my son got married, almost two years ago, I can go out of that comfort zone "a tad easier" because our DIL likes colors that are TOTALLY out of my comfort zone.

Live and Learn I guess.

LOVE this one! I never would have grabbed this line but now I want to pick some up!
Seriously I think you're doing a great Public Service...or maybe its a credit card service as now it wants to be used.

Ahhhhhhh, another great one.

Are you going to quilt all of these??? Yikes!!!

That's way out of my comfort zone. It's fun for me to see the fabric done up as we would never get these in our stores. I'm not bored at all, keep them coming.

Wow Darlene, you are on a Schnibble roll and they are all wonderful. Like you, I have a comfort zone that I don't step out of too often but every now and then, something completely out of character will grab me and I just have to try it. It is always rewarding to try something new and have a really great time with it.

What a Schnibblefest! I think this one is terrific. The chocolate and coral pink are dynamite together.

Botany isn't a line that I would have in my stash but seeing it done up sure makes my eyes open to the possibilities. Open Season is delightful with this line! Job well done you!

I love, love, love this challenge you have done! I am working on this very quilt right now (Open Season) in the Tweet Tweet fabric line. I have my Botany layer cakes all ready for use in another large Schnibble. Oh, I do love those Schnibbles, big and little. Thank you for sharing...keep 'em coming!!!

A really interesting thing for me is seeing you use colours that would be out of my comfort box too, and finding that I really love some of them.
