Stinkin' Cute!

:-)

First I want to send out a huge HUG to each and everyone of you who took time to leave me a hug earlier this week. You truly made my heart smile - thank you bunches and bunches!!!! I've been working on responding to your comments please bear with me.

After a brief hiatus from my sewing machine and my sewing room I'm back in the groove and having fun. :-)

I have finally finished (well to a flimsy stage) my Annie stitchery project. I had a ton of fun working on this project and now look forward to quilting it. I want to quilt it in a crosshatch pattern but I'm a little fearful of my ability. We'll see! The patterns are designed by Barbie Jo Paquin of Cleo and Me Patterns, Inc. Barbie Jo is not only talented but a sweetie, too. And, she has a sister named Darlene - woohoo!!! LOL

Speaking of stinkin' cute - sweet Shaye is waiting for a quilt (yes curtains for her room, too - LOL) from her Nana Darlene and Nana Darlene needs your help. I have plans for a larger quilt using Bliss fat quarters but I want to make a crib size quilt using these charm packs - any thoughts or ideas?????

I hope your day is Bliss(ful). Thank you for your friendship.

In Friendship!

I don't have any ideas, but I love the fabric, and I'm sure you'll come up with something wonderful. Glad you got lots of hugs, and you're feeling better.

Two thoughts popped into my head. Check the Moda Bakeshop for recipes using charm packs. Here is one:

The other thought is the new books by Me and My Sister that uses charm packs. I think it's called 3 times the charm. It's by Leisure Arts and sells for %9.95. Love Bliss fabric and so will GD!

Hi Darlene, thanks for stopping by earlier. How about a disappearing nine patch? Or a "Building Blocks by Cindy Lammon. It is from MBS and turned out darling.

Love the fabric -- and any of the Schnibble patterns can be made with 2 charm packs.

Glad you are feeling better - somehow sitting behind my sewing machine always puts me in a better frame of mind. Sewing is good for the soul!

Ohhh that Annie quilt is the cutest thing ever. I love the designs and the way you put them together.

First...LOVE the embroidery quilt! I need to get my hands on those patterns.

Second...I agree with Sandy about the disappearing nine patch. Or you could keep it by leaving the squares as is and sashing them in a solid off white. That would be really cute in the Bliss.

Oh my gosh Darlene...I don't have an idea one in my head. I just spent 5 hours last night and 3 hours this afternoon learning how to paper piece. I discovered it is not the easiest thing to teach oneself!!! I will tell you though that I finally got it. 8 hours of sewing and not just a little frustration and I now have this one quite nice .... wait for it .... one mind you, 4" block. LMAO. Honestly, I don't know why I got it into my head last night that I just had to learn and I couldn't possibly learn on the delightfully simple example that Quilters Cache advises you to master first, NOPE ... I had to do a lovely flower, well, 1/4 of the lovely flower. I am determined to finish the other three quarters of it tonight so I don't lose my focus on it. Then I will turn it into a mug rug or something easy. Then I'm going to try a Dresden. Not sure why I didn't do that first, but now that I have the whole mirror image concept 'pinned' into my head, the other parts of the block should go very easy. So, I wish I could come up with a delightful idea for your Bliss Charm Paks...but, but until I go back down to my sewing room and sort through all the brain cells I lost and see if any are worth saving I'm fresh out of ideas. BUT, you are my 'Wonder Quilter' and I know you will make something perfect. Well, I've been ranting for far too long so I will let you go. Sending another hug for you ((((((HUG))))). Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs...

I seen a quilt at carol's crafty creations (don't know where she got her pattern) and she has one done with Lilly and will or Will and Lilly wherever, anyways I only seen her picture and from them on I created mine I added sashings and I think it came out very good. I didn't recreated the exact pattern but it looked simple enough to be done with two charm packs. Good Luck.
PS: she used to have it on her side bar but I'm sure that she made it early this year.

Aw that is stinkin' cute! It just makes me smile. I'm so glad you are feeling better and back in your 'padded room', as my kids call my sewing room. LOL No ideas for your charm packs, but just want to say~ they will make into anything adorable! Have a great evening!

Those redwork Annies are soooo cute. How about the Bricks pattern in the newest BH&G Quilting magazine.

YES it is stinkin' cute! That is too darling! You're well back in the groove, I'd say. I think you might find something for those charm packs over at the moda bake shop - I usually just leave them square [boring, I know] but I know there are lots of ways to cut them up! Something with pinwheels might be cute.

I am a huge fan of pinwheels - I think they would be adorable out of this line.

You're welcome for the hugs! Hope the stress causing that need has passed, but glad some fabric/sewing therapy seemed to help--it always helps me :)

Love the embroidery! I'm with you on the quilting skills part as far as hand quilting goes--did you specify hand or machine? Can't recall now!

I like the pinwheel idea for the charm squares too!

I'm glad the virtual hugs have helped.

Your redwork is great, I love the patterns and will have to go and have a look at that site.

As for the Bliss, what about cutting flower petals and appliqueing them onto a plain fabric?

ok the Bliss I am sure you will come up with something great, maybe even just nine patches or 4 patches with a great alternate color solid fabric , pinwheels, just look thru a few books something will pop out at you and inspire you!

I'm so glad you're feeling better and are spending some time with your machine. Annie's are wonderful...need to get busy on mine. OH Bliss...It's one of my favorites...I did those 2 quilts for Camden with Bliss from Carrie's Schnibbles Two book...they were so much fun!

Wonderful flimsie! A lot of work but it will be worth it. If you are fearful of your quilting (which you shouldn't be) why not get Barbie Jo to quilt it! wink wink

Your stitchery project came out real stinkin' cute! I saw a darling big girl quilt over at the Jolly Jabber. It was made with a Cotton Way pattern and charm packs. Looked fun and easy.

I was nosing around Fat Quarter Shop and saw the Bunny Hill Design baby quilt patterns. They're out of jelly rolls, but charm packs would work on those. Here's another (HUG) just because! xo

Half-square triangles might be nice. But, simple patchwork is lovely and really allows the fabric to shine. You could get fancy in the border with some applique or something if you wanted.

More hugs, just in case!
