March(ing) Along

 Did you know...
March is National Quilting Month!

Thank you so much for sharing your project organization ideas - I really appreciate it.
Maybe I am a fly by the seat of my pants person or I could be a list maker but I've come to the conclusion that it really doesn't matter.  I sew, quilt, embroider, applique, etc for fun and in the grand scheme of things that's all that matters.  :-)

I had a strong desire to sew today and decided I wanted to play with 4 patches.  I didn't have a firm plan but that changed when I opened the closet in my sewing room and spotted a large zip lock bag with some completed four patches and other pieces parts.  As Paulette would say "SCORE".   All the four patches were finished and alternate blocks were cut so I was good to go.  Before I knew it I had the center of the quilt finished and within a couple of hours the borders attached.  Big WooHoo!!!!

Wishing you pieceful days!

Darlene, I don't usually see a dark quilt on your blog. Looks like my kind of quilt. Good for you taking pieces and parts and making a quilt and having fun while doing it. And a good quilt!

Thanks for the reminder that March is National Quilting Month! ;-)

Sure wish I had blocks sitting in my closet ... I'm lucky to have a few leftover strips (most of which were used to make a log cabin quilt last year).

How weird. My sister just gave me a giant ziplock baggie full of 4 patches she was bored with and said "Here. You do something with them." Mostly blue and white, so I can add some red sashing and have a quick patriotic quilt to go to the Family Support Group at Joint Base Lewis McChord (combined Army-Air Force base near Tacoma, WA) that my quilting group donates to. Score, indeed :D

Hi there Darlene! It is so much fun catching up with what everyone has been doing while I've been "AWOL". This quilt is fantastic and marvelous - just the kind of quilt I love. How fun to find all those "parts" just waiting for you to put them together.

I love it Darlene and would definitely say "score". That inner border of red is the perfect touch!

Good way for you to kick off National Quilting Month. If you google National Quilting Month your blog post shows up. I discovered that the official Nat'l Quilting Day is March 16th. That would be a good day to dedicate to a day for just quilting.

Well. This is just wrong ~ and on a whole lot of levels!

Yeah, yeah... I'm envious. PEA. GREEN. You go into the closet and un-earth a fabulously wonderful quilt. I go into the closet and all I find is a mountain of dust.

It's official. I need a new closet. :)

SCORE indeed! Beautiful blocks and such instant gratification - however, it looks like you spent a LOT of time at some point in the past making all those 4 patch units. Well done!
