Hexagon/GFG Update

I've been stitching away and as Libby predicted, I'm very addicted to these adorable flowers. I've got to decide on a color for the "path" between the flowers. I'm thinking about using the same black tone on tone that I'm using in the centers. Any suggestions???

Thought for today: Wish it, dream it, live it!

Where in the world is Judy? She's been "lost in cyberspace" but now she's right here: http://judylaquidara.blogspot.com

Oh, gosh, those are pretty! Yeah, the black would work! Or you can just make them and give them to me! :)

Good job, Darlene - as usual!

Black would work just fine. These are coming along pretty quickly. It's amazing how addictive they can become!

Black would do OK or what about a dark warm brown fabric. Or dark green and it will seem like the flowers are in a field.
It is fun making hexagons. Using left over scraps and easy to bring along to sew everywhere. You do not have to think about what you are doing just sew :)

Oh they are GORGEOUS! I love the colors! Yes - the black for the setting! It will really make those flowers sparkle!

They look fantastic -- I knew you would be addicted. They are just so easy to pick up and fun to watch come together. I'm going to put my two cents on the black. It just happens to be the same black I am using for the path around my hex stars *s*

You can try them out on several backgrounds. Did anyone tell you how addictive those flowers can be?

Where are they laying now--that neutral flooring color doesn't look too bad though perhaps you are going for a higher degree of contrast. The other colors that have been suggested would be grand too.

Guess you just need to start auditioning some fabrics and see what makes the blocks pop.

Those are beautiful! I think that black would set the flowers off very nicely :) xoxo melzie

Another lovely project Darlene. My vote would be for a dark green. But black could look alright. It's a color i have never used. I'll be watching to see what you decide on.

I just read all your blog entries! You sound very familiar(like when I look in the mirror-lol)
I've had the same relationship with applique as you and I would love to read what inspired you to have another go at it.
I'll comment more later, gotta go to church.

I'm having trouble commenting so will try one more time. I just found you and read all you posts. I too do both piecing and applique. You are so good at selecting colors, I sure wish I could do that. Talking to you soon again. Katie
