On Point

Those 9 patches have been sitting in my sewing room calling my name! After contemplating a setting - "on point" or "straight" - "on-point" won! I need to say thank you to those that helped me make that decision :-) So....here's the upper left hand corner of the quilt. As I'm assembling my rows, etc I'm also contemplating the borders. Not sure what I'm going to do but I do have a few ideas rolling around in my head. I'm really hoping that my friend loves this quilt as much as I do.

Hi, Darlene ! Oh, I'm so happy that you show us that beautiful quilt growing ! Last night, I couldn't sleep (as often), so I had a virtual "quilt tour" (it helps getting sweet dreams) and suddenly I "saw" your 9 patches and thought: "they could be wonderful, set on point, too, I wonder..."
Now, I've got the answer : cute, cute, cute ! GREAT job !

Hugs & smiles,
NADINE.

I'm 'sew' glad to see you are back at your machine and feeling inspiration. It's going to be a great quilt and much loved by your friend. It's hard to go wrong with 'on point,' it just adds the right touch.

It looks great! I really need to set something on point - I never have!

Like Hedgehog I too have never set anything on point - I need to try it out.

Your quilt (in my favourite colours - vbs)is looking so very pretty. Your friend is a very lucky person to have you as their friend.

very nice Darlene. I'm so glad to see you are sewing again. Can't wait to see what border you add to the nine patch blocks.

Nice - on-point really is a great alternative that is often overlooked. You quilt reminds me of one of my UFO's - basically the opposite of yours, with the 9 patches having the background in the "5 spots"...

You get a lot more done when you are in a quilting slump that you do!
